Is it worth it to repair my ThinkPad?
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 2 that I've been using for 3.5 years. It's quite battered because I've dropped it a few times (sorry) and it has a tendency to get very hot, but otherwise it works fine.
Previously it ran into battery issues and I replaced the battery with a cheap unofficial one that lasted 2 months before failing again, so this time I sent it to an authorised repair centre.
I was only expecting a battery replacement, but when they finished diagnosing it they said the touchscreen needed to be replaced too because the adhesive was leaking internally. The price they gave for both battery and screen repair was around 445 USD/391 Euros, and around 165 USD/145 Euros for battery replacement alone.
Considering the current value of my laptop, is it worth it to pay that amount of money to repair it? I'd repair only the battery because I'm currently short on money, but I'm worried that the screen adhesive leaking might damage more components down the line.
I do have another computer that I can use for work, but it's 6 years old and quite slow and I'm not sure if I can trust it to last.
