Looking for a Hyundai mechanic

My Hyundai three-year new car warranty is about to expire. I’ve only gone to the dealership for service since it was free.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good Hyundai mechanic? Thanks so much.

Your Learning style

When I was a teenager, I very much wished I could take lessons several times a week, if not daily. I always felt like I didn’t know what to do in the practice room! My teacher would explain what I was to work on, I would get home and I would forget what I learned, being unable to reproduce what they wanted me to do. I would feel down about myself for not understanding. And then I would attend lesson the following week, and be ashamed that I could not perform to expectations. I felt like I was constantly letting my teacher down.

It’s stressed me to no end. Part of the reason why was because I was a very shy young person, and had a learning disability that was never addressed.

I stopped playing the violin for about five or six years in my 20s and then picked it up again in my 30s. I restarted lessons - still not understanding as much as I wished to - but I kept it up, stopping and starting lessons throughout my life. I had some really great teachers.

I am over 70 now, and I am pleased with my competency in violin playing. I will never be a soloist, but I have great satisfaction in what I can do and know that I am good.

I’ve always wondered, would I have been a much better player sooner if I had taken more lessons?

What has your experience been? Do you feel you are playing at the level you want to be at? Am I wrong to think more lessons would have helped?

The Weston Garden Center in Fort Worth is being threatened by a proposed data center.

please consider signing the petition linked below. It is a butterfly way station, organic garden center and champion of native Texas plants.

Texans were not asked if they want data centers. If you are a Fort Worth resident, please contact the mayor and city council. Their contact information is at the link.

Lasagna noodles break while cooking in water

I have been using Barilla lasagna noodles for years - the kind you boil in water. The past few years I’ve made lasagna, they have been breaking while cooking in the water. I’ve just been living with it, but I would like to know if there’s a way to prevent them breaking.

I use a 5 quart pan 2/3 full, wait until the water is boiling, put a tablespoon of salt in, and then put nine lasagna noodles in one by one. As they soften, I bend them to fit the pan. I boil them for 10 minutes .

at the end of the cooking time, they are mostly split, and the frills sometimes separate completely off of the noodle and i figure it’s something I’m doing or not doing.

Any guidance you can give me would be very much appreciated!

Angie and Sara

When I first started watching the show, I kept Book Will firmly in my head and compared the way the show interpreted the stories. It wasn’t until the final episode of this season’s story wrap ups that I got what they were doing.

So (as someone else here has done), I started rewatching from season 1 with fresh eyes. I understand the differences now I know where they landed. And now I don’t think they will introduce Sara - at least not book Sara.

In the books, Will only had 2 love interests and they were complete opposites. Angie, as troubled and broken as Will is, acted out all her feelings and has a mean, jealous streak. No family support, growing up with a more than abusive mother, has made her a hardened biatch in the books.

Contrast her with Sara. Sara had loving, caring middle class parents who supported her. Sara had all the advantages, went to medical school and has a stellar career. Her “flaw” (wrong word but I can’t think what to say) is that she was brutally assaulted in college. (Edit: Sara has more than one trauma; I’m forgetting.) Book Will is a lonely, awkward man who expects everyone he meets to reject him. Sara, who meets him after she experienced some trauma as well, sees something in Will that connects them. This gives Will strength to finally break free of Angie. If you read the books, it is a hard slog for both of them.

Now back tv show Angie! I think she is the combination of Angie, Sara, and the other love interests he has- Cricket, Marion, Ava. The last 3 women had the same adoration for Will that Sara has, so why introduce an actual Sara? It’s already been explored. And tv show Angie has the good qualities of Sara- she has his back, always and shows him kindness.

So that’s what I think. Anyway I’m really looking forward to season 5!

Will’s accent

I have seen a lot of memorials with interviews on Ted Turner in the news the past few days, and it struck me, this is Will’s accent. What do you think? Are you hearing the same thing?

If so, then I think Rodriguez can say he’s been vindicated, lol.

My thought is that it was Mrs.. Flannery’s accent.

We are looking for a new vet. The last one was afraid of our cats and wanted us to drug them before they came for visits. They would quickly look at their mouths and declare, “looks good to me, haha”!

Has anyone used St. Francis Vet clinic? I’d like to know what your experience was.

Thanks
