You’ll find new players, veterans, builders, explorers, farmers, redstoners, and people who just want a quiet place to play with a chill chat. Solo or community play both work fine. A small active group beats a huge silent one.

We DO NOT hand you full enchanted diamond gear and other things the second you spawn in, we like our players to progress together.

Nobody has killed the dragon yet. We’re saving the first End run for a proper group event so early progression stays fair. If you’re worried you missed the start, you haven’t.

Admins don’t silently change things overnight. Bigger ideas and events get talked through with players. People pitch ideas, run projects, and sometimes take ownership of districts or community builds. If something feels off, speak up.

📅 What the server feels like

Some people grind farms, some terraform, some decorate until 2am, some hang in voice chat while building. Hard mode keeps the world dangerous, QoL keeps it fun. Chat stays relaxed and drama gets shut down quickly.

Hey! I'm Ghosty and i'm starting a small 22+ Only SMP called Sleep Debt.

It’s vanilla survival with quality-of-life stuff only (nothing that plays the game for you). No economy plugins, no pay-to-win, no “season 47 of PvP.” Just a world where adults can build, explore, and not deal with kid-server chaos.

For a bit of backstory on myself, I have worked on development and server hosting within Minecraft for over a decade now and know how to run a perfect, smooth server. The problem is that I don't and many others don't enjoy the over-saturated 200 plugin servers with little feeling of a community and it ends up too grindy and repetitive.

The goal of this server is to introduce entirely Quality of Life improvements, performance fixes and other things that make you feel like you're on a vanilla community but enhanced.

We are BRAND NEW but have hopes we will grow, we are not looking for thousands of players, just a dedicated few who are looking for a new, fresh and non-toxic community.

Vibe we’re going for

• Chill. Build at your own pace.
• Community over competition (but we still like a lil competition)
• Respect people’s bases, time, and boundaries (we even have an Off-Grid role if you don’t want to be in streams/recordings).
• We allow PvP but only if agreed upon by the two people.
• Anyone from ANY country is welcome to join given that you speak English and have a microphone; this is so that we know all members can communicate with each other and ourselves in case of any issues.

The End is also locked until we get a small community who want to go and fight the dragon together, we may consider allowing access to the End without the ability to kill the dragon but for now, it is remaining locked until we grow a little bit.

Server is hosted in a neutral location on a VERY strong machine so that our small community has full capabilities of redstone (no lag machines though) and a good connection no matter where you are.

✨ Why Vanilla+ instead of pure vanilla

Pure vanilla is great until you’ve waited through your fifteenth sleepless night because one person is underground, or you’re punching leaves for half an hour after chopping a tree.

So we keep survival real — Hard difficulty, normal progression, dying still sucks — and layer on comfort:

• 🛏️ One-player sleep — nights don’t hold the whole server hostage
• 🍂 Faster leaf decay — trees feel better to clear
• 💀 Mob head drops
• 🎤 Simple Voice Chat — talk while you build if you want near other players.
• 🗺️ BlueMap — check the world from a browser
• 💾 Nightly backups + scheduled restarts — so the world doesn’t eat itself
• Huge server performance improvements, network routing for those in other countries, you will have half of your typical "foreign" ping.
• Everything is "invisible" so all the improvements etc. you will feel, but not have to deal with menus or slop.
• Discord Server chat, even if you're not in-game you can still talk to everyone else and stay involved!
• Grief Rollbacks & Tracking (If we ever have a player that decides to grief the server, we can simply rollback certain areas and/or check if someone is stealing from you!)

If a feature starts feeling like it ruins the game, we drop or change it. The point is comfort, not turning Minecraft into a different game.

You don’t have to join every project. Solo play is fine. So is helping with roads, farms, districts, shops, or public builds. The server works best when there’s a mix.

We’re not collecting Discord ghosts. A smaller active group beats a huge inactive one every time.

Nobody’s killed the dragon yet.

We’re keeping The End closed until the community’s ready to do it together — vote, pick a time, go in as a group for the first fight. That way the big milestone isn’t “three people already finished the game while everyone else is still in iron.”

So if you’re worried you missed the early days and everyone’s already flying around with elytra: you didn’t. There’s still a lot of firsts left on this world.

This isn’t a dictatorship where admins silently change everything overnight.

Bigger changes, events, and direction stuff get talked about with players. People pitch ideas, help run projects, and sometimes end up owning a corner of the server — a district, a shop street, a community farm, whatever makes sense.

If something bugs you and you’ve got a fix or a better approach, say it. That’s how the place improves.

Some people grind farms. Some terraform. Some mess with redstone until 2am. Some just hang in voice and build a stupidly detailed kitchen.

Chat stays pretty chill. Drama gets shut down. Whitelist exists so we can keep it that way.

Hard mode means the world can still kill you. QoL means getting back to playing doesn’t feel like a chore.
