American style soft cookies (recipe in the photos)

I had hoped for a wider spread but I think the dough was too chilled. You could probably skip the chill phase and get those pools of cookie.

Any stand users here?

I’m thinking to purchase a stand mixer for the kitchen and am drawn to the BADUS 5L stand mixer as it’s less than 20,000 yen.

Can anyone here recommend it? Is a stand mixer worth the investment in general or should I just continue throwing dough by hand.

Shifting from Employee to Freelance - couple of questions about tax savings.

First of all, huge thanks for the people who are working on kei3.japanfinance.org. It has been so helpful for planning expenses with this transition.

My new job is not exactly freelance as it’s a full time position, but the organization does not withhold Japanese taxes or provide insurance. I’ll need to manage my own and enroll in NHI. I’ve worked a side gig for a while and am familiar with this process.

So every month, I’ll need to set aside a chunk of cash to pay taxes later. My questions is what is the best use of this money while I’m waiting to pay? Is anyone making use of high apy savings account online they would recommend?

Juliana makes Chandelure even better

A couple of seasons ago, I ran Chandelure to master ball with over 80% win rate across many games.

I wasnt sure what to replace from the original lineup but I ended up pulling Ice Pop under the assumption that most things are one shotting Meowth when they connect and I try to hold Chandelure back until last minute anyways.

I like her, I have a FA Professor Turo if anyone wants to trade for her FA.

When does snacking cross the line in the office?

My wife and I were discussing this and I wanted to hear other peoples thoughts.

Everyone knows you shouldn’t snack at your office desk outside of lunch. Opening a bag of potato chips would get you looks from your coworkers.

But having an omiyage cookie with your coffee is fine. So where is the line?

For omiyage, I received a chilled cream filled roll cake that felt like it just crossed the line to eat outside of lunch.

My wife said string cheese is maybe okay but six piece cheese is out.

I got an umaibo from someone’s trip and it was crumbly so it felt like it was out.

What do y‘all think?
