VZ-61 Dovetail PDW Brace

Got something in the works right now that I am designing and prototyping. If it all works out and anyone is interested, I’ll share the design and full parts list required.

I’ll post pics of it fully printed and assembled with my non-printed hardware, bearings, and guide rods as soon as it all finishes.

Edit: Ehh, I guess you win some you lose some. Fuck me for trying to be innovative. 😂

Re-weld Jig V2 is live

My re-weld jig V2 is now live and it’s a winner. Very happy with the fit and alignment.

Hopefully is useful for you all. Link to Google Drive in comments.

Alignment Jig

Found a 3D printed alignment jig online for a reweld, but found the alignment pins to be rather weak and easily broken when used, so I have been drafting in CAD to make my own jig for initial spot welding. My design allows the alignment pins to be printed separately and then pressed into the bottom of the jig plate. I also have provision for a three point alignment pin for the magazine release pin hole as an extra point of alignment, though probably not necessary.

Working on printing a test model to see how close tolerances are/make tweaking if necessary. But if anyone is interested in this, let me know. I will likely just distribute free of charge on Thingiverse.

Update #1: printed pins and three-pin alignment dowel and all clearances are good to go. Stopped the print of the jig plate about 6 hours in to ensure the pins fit correctly into the jig and aligned the receiver correctly and it’s all good to go so far. Going to finish jig plate print and then upon review, I will share the STL’s. Note: I would print the pins laying on their and utilize tree supports. This greatly increases the strength of the pins as the layers are stacked along their longest x-sec. I will include my chosen print settings when my test print checks out.

Update #2: test print finish and everything lines up and clearances are all good to go except the 3 point alignment tab for the magazine release. Not sure how I got it so out of whack. I will revamp that and then release the final STL files for this right after, but Here are the shape files for the Jig plate and the Pins in both .STL and .OBJ formats for the time being. 7.65 browning vs .32 ACP cycling/ modifications to achieve better reliability.

Been looking for some euro spec ammo and haven’t been able to really find any. I have read that a lot of guys here prefer Norma, PPU, or S&B due to their ammo being loaded to the proper euro spec that these guns are designed for.

My question is, if I am an unable to find any (.32 ACP PMC, Winchester, etc is much more prevalent in my location even locally), will polishing of the feed lips help any if I have a surplus barrel? Or will I need to make some additional modifications to achieve better reliability? Has anyone attempted to reduce the bolt mass or try different springs to achieve better cycling with American .32 ACP ammo?

Anybody run Holley Sniper EFI?

Debating to convert from my edelbrock dual quad set up to EFI and wanted to see if anyone had any experience with it. Specifically on a big block car.

Started out life as a 1976 el Camino conquista classic. I bought it when I was 16 (30 now) and during college began tearing it down and rebuilding it. Dropped in a 454 and TH375 trans with B&M shift kit to replace the tired 350 and TH350, welded in all new floor pans, all new suspension, brakes, etc and then began bodywork. I got really busy and tied up with life after finishing college and have unfortunately just let it sit in the garage for the past few years. Trying to find the motivation to get back at it.
