A Penny For Your Thoughts -an interesting coincidence

I watched this episode for the first time the other day, and was interested to find that Dick York (Hector Poole) and Hayden Rorke (Mr. Sykes) both appear in this episode together. York and Rorke would of course go on to play leading mortal characters in rival magic-based sitcoms -York as Darrin Stephens in "Bewitched" and Rorke as Dr. Bellows in "I Dream of Jeannie"

It's always interesting to me when I have retroactive recognition experiences like that on TZ -to see actors/actresses who you recognize from their later work appear on the show, especially two in one episode. York, of course, had already appeared in "The Purple Testament" before this episode

The story of Evelyn Marsden, the only Australian to survive the sinking of the Titanic

This is an in-depth interview with journalist Lisa Wilkinson, who has written a book about Evelyn Marsden, a nurse whom, as the title says, was the only Australian survivor of the Titanic. It was aired on local radio here in Australia on Monday (there's an annoying little ad at the beginning, skip to approximately 00:35 to start the actual interview)

Would Diana and Dodi have lasted?

Putting aside whether the royal family would have allowed the marriage/placed obstacles in their way, etc.

I've heard every theory under the sun about their relationship -that Diana thought that Dodi was the one, that Dodi was planning to propose to her, that Diana wasn't serious about Dodi and was using him to make Dr Hasnat Khan jealous and so on. Of course, no one really knows what was really going on behind the scenes. Nevertheless, it does make me curious

Even without opposition from the royal family, I could see numerous obstacles to the path to a lasting relationship. The British establishment and their dancing bears in the media, especially the royal family "watchers" and "experts", would've have been relentless. The racism and religious bigotry toward al-Fayed would've been off the charts,

Added to that was all the controversy and the unsavory reputation around the al-Fayed family. There's no doubt Mohamed al-Fayed was pushing the relationship, I'm sure he would have tried to milk it for his own advantage and purposes. Given all the allegations that have come out about al-Fayed since his death (which were known at the time, just kept under wraps), I'm sure that might have caused problems down the road. It's possible that it all may have come out sooner had the press had the Diana angle to contend with, it's plausible in my mind that sections of the British establishment may have pushed the allegations as a way to discredit Dodi and Diana. It would also have created problems for Prince William as the heir to the throne, and that would have been an issue for Diana as well.

Dodi was also facing some sort of legal action from a jilted lover, who was being represented by high-profile defence attorney Gloria Allred, when he did. I have no insight into the merits of that case, nor the rights and wrongs of it, and I suspect it may have gone to a settlement if Dodi had lived but, if not, it would have generated a whole heap of negative coverage to add fuel to the fire, which may have complicated the relationship

What do you all think about whether the relationship would've lasted?

I did not realize that Dorothy's friend Trudy was on two of my favorite episodes of the "Twilight Zone"

Trudy was played by the late, great Anne Francis. Francis starred in two episodes of "The Twilight Zone" -"The After Hours" and "Jess Belle"

She plays such different characters so brilliantly in all three roles. The jilted, conniving lover who gets more than she bargained for in "Jess Belle", the sweet, innocent shopper to whom there is more than meets the eye in "The After Hours" and the brash, mischievous prankster on "The Golden Girls". I've seen the episode with Trudy quite a few times, I would never have guessed it was the same actress had I not looked up her list of credits on Wikipedia

ROFLOL! Hollie Hughes and Teena McQueen defect to One Nation!

Being reported in the Guardian breaking news section.

Not really a surprise. Hughes is a bitter has-been still trying to stay relevant, who also blames Taylor (not unfairly) for costing her preselection so he could get his acolyte Jess Collins into the Senate. McQueen has always been a right-wing nut, so this is her natural home.

Hughes, incidentally, tried to make her pitch for preselection the last time round by boasting that one of her achievements was sinking the Voice Referendum. So, she'll be right at home with her new Rinehart cool kids.
