Portfolio went from ₹30L to ₹50L+ in 3 months. No fresh capital added.
Just wanted to share my last 3 months portfolio journey.
On 30th March, my portfolio was around ₹29.28L.
By early July, it crossed ₹50.17L.
Before anyone says “you must have added more money”, I didn’t add even a single rupee of fresh capital during this period.
The invested value changed because I booked profits in some stocks and rotated that money into newer opportunities. So it may look like fresh investment, but it is basically recycled capital from profit-booking and reinvestment.
My portfolio XIRR is currently around 35%+, while the benchmark shown there, NIFTY Smallcap 250, is around 8.23%.
The biggest reason this happened was concentration. I usually hold only 8-10 stocks max, and I try to stay focused on strong catalysts instead of spreading money across 25-30 names.
Some stocks that really helped during this period were names like Sterlite Tech, Sky Gold, Suven, Wock and a few other small-cap moves that played out strongly after March.
Of course, this also works both ways. A concentrated portfolio can make your returns look beautiful when you are right, but it can also punch you in the face when you are wrong. So I’m not saying this is the best strategy for everyone.
