What’s Your Favorite Shakespeare Quote?

The solemn temples, the great globe itself—
Yea, all which it inherit—shall dissolve
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep. (IV.i.)

- Prospero, The Tempest

Just Starting Tirosent

I had a low risk papillary cancer removed with a partial thyroidectomy. My TSH was trending higher so endocrinologist put me on Tirosent. I have also celiac so he suggested this was better for me.

I know this much easier than what most of the people here go through but I would truly appreciate any thoughts, experiences, and guidance.

Indoor Recumbent Bike

Anyone else into it? It’s much easier on the vitals while sitting. I did a LOT of outdoor biking but indoor has so many advantages: no crazies, no dogs, bugs, rain, and you’re in AC.

Should We Elect More Communists?

“Weaver's comments included a post celebrating the government's "sacred right to seize private property",[13] a 2018 post calling to "impoverish the white middle class" and labeling homeownership as "racist",[12][14] and a 2019 post arguing that "homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy masquerading as 'wealth building' public policy".[12][13][14]”

Was Decebalus Foolish?

He’s a national hero in Romania yet he invaded south of the Danube, provoking the Empire. I can kind of understand if it was 450 AD or similar but attacking when he did? What did he expect would happen?

FDA Approved Nubeqa as Monotherapy

“I’m curious about the FDA’s June 5 approval of darolutamide (Nubeqa) as a monotherapy for mCSPC. My understanding is that the AR blocker would allow higher T than ADT while providing protection against recurrence in metastatic cases that were previously treated with ADT. It may even delay the onset of CRPC. Higher T might improve quality of life.”

One of these days, Lupron will be a bad memory.

Nocturia

This seems pretty common. Anybody with any techniques to minimize this? So far, I’ve used compression socks and keeping a buckler by the side of the bed so I don’t have to get up. Ideas that work for you?

Were there personal trainers for mid teen boys who wanted to join the Legions? It seems that a year of training by a retired Legionnaire would go a long way to ensuring a boy was ready. Where could I read up on topics like this?

What are some good tips for finding the right doctor? Mine is that one should look at university hospitals or the really top dogs like John’s Hopkins. The doctors and staff at these place are likely way better than at community hospitals. Doctors compete for positions too so a surgeon at Northwestern Medical Center or University of Texas Med is far more likely to run rings around the average surgeon.
