Dog owner deliberately intimidated my mother after she panicked – what action can I take?

My mother was walking in our society when a girl in her early 20s walked past with her dog. My mother is genuinely scared of dogs, so she moved to the side and screamed out of panic. Instead of understanding, the owner got angry, banged a stick on the ground, and brought the dog even closer to my mother while telling (actually yelling at) her not to overreact.

I am absolutely furious. What would you do in this situation? Is there any legal action worth taking?

Planning a Czech Republic + Hungary trip (6 days + 5 days) – Visa booking question

Hi everyone,

I’m planning a trip to the Czech Republic (6 days) and Hungary (5 days). Since I’ll be landing in Prague and flying back from Prague, and I’ll be spending the most time in the Czech Republic, I’ll be applying for my Schengen visa through the Czech Republic.

I’m a bit confused about the documentation required.

  1. Do I need actual confirmed flight tickets and hotel bookings, or are reservations/refundable bookings sufficient for the visa application?
  2. If confirmed bookings aren’t mandatory, what are the safest and most commonly used “jugaads” people use to avoid locking in expensive non-refundable bookings before the visa is approved?
    Refundable flights?
    Pay-at-property/cancel-free hotel bookings
Flight reservation services or travel agents?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has recently applied through the Czech embassy (especially from India)

Thanks in advance.

Consultant here. My client spoc has started making work miserable—need advice.

I’ve been working as a consultant for an Indian PSU client for the past 13 months, and until recently things have been going well. My performance has been good, and I’ve never had any major issues.

Over the last few weeks, though, my client SPOC has started making work really difficult. For example, he’ll notice me leaving the office in the evening and then suddenly ask me to make changes to a deck, expecting it back by EOD. It feels less like a genuine business requirement and more like he’s deliberately trying to keep me back.

On rainy days in Mumbai, if I leave a little earlier to avoid getting stranded, he’ll make comments like, “The rest of us are staying back, so you should too.”

I don’t mind working hard or staying late when there’s a real deadline, but this feels more like control than work.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? How do you handle a client like this?

Would it be appropriate to raise this with my Director or Partner? If I explain the situation, is this something leadership would typically support me on, or would they expect me to just deal with it?

Any advice would be appreciated because it’s starting to affect my motivation.
