Have a rainy day smallmouth session planned for tomorrow in northern Illinois(Fox River). Wondering how to successfully go about my fly selection. More specifically, top water vs. streamers? Or even good ol squirmy wormy. The help on this sub has been awesome I appreciate yall 🫶

Pairing it with my Mojo bass and throwing your typical small and large streamers/ poppers/ bugs. Is there anything decent around $100? Id like to keep it less than $150. My current reel is heavy and it’s very easy for line to slip through the seems soo looking for the opposite of those things lol. Thanks!

Have had luck on larger streamers, woolly buggers and squirmy worm and some top water. Just hasn’t been very productive. Thanks!
