Arboretum Area of Worcester

I am moving to this area from out of town. Is this a good area? I tend to go to work early in the morning (before 7 am), and would catch the train from Foregate Street Station. I sometimes come home late too (after 7 pm). I realise the area is close to the Rainbow Hill area, a post for which appeared a few days ago. Thank you in advance.

Moving to Worcester

I hope I can gather some thoughts on this. I am a single woman around 50 years old. I work in Bristol but only go to the office around 3 times a month. I cannot afford to live in many parts of Bristol, or at least not places with a small garden or outdoor space (I have been gardening for so many years and I like to at least be able to grow some pots in plants). I tried places around Bristol such as Clevedon, but I don't have a car. I also have 2 cats. Would Worcester be a suitable place to live? I like museums, going for coffee, running, walking. I have been there a few times, but I hope to get the perspectives of those that live there. Thank you in advance.

South Wales or Bristol for Meeting People

I am not moving to the UK. I already live here, having moved here around one year ago. I hope it is OK that I post here. My job is based in Bristol, but I only go to the office around 3 or 4 times a month. I presently live outside Cardiff. Although the scenery is nice in Wales and people are friendly, I haven't met many friends and haven't found many social activities that are easy to just join. I go to classes at a gym, but it is largely established groups for example. I am not saying anything negative about Wales, as I realise that meeting new friends after a certain age is hard in every country. But, I am wondering whether moving to Bristol, Exeter or someone larger may help me in finding more social activities or larger groups of people that may be in my same position. Thanks in advance.

How often does your family visit or do they expect you to visit them?

I have lived in Europe for around 8 years. When I first moved, I was told "can't wait to visit you". In reality, I mostly went back home to visit my family. Even my family with the financial means and time off, did not bother to visit at all, expecting to me to go home all the time. I didn't realise it bothered me, until recently when I thought "maybe someone will be interested in how I am establishing my life, instead of just hoping I return". What are your experiences?

Anyone else regret not going to law school in the US and staying in Canada instead?

I went to law school in Canada. When I was in private practice, I applied to firms in the US, but without success. I often think "why didn't I just take the loan and get into a good US school?". I had a high LSAT. I was just insecure about the cost. Anyone, I know I will get a comments from those who found a good career in Canada. I did not. Worked hard, but had trouble finding jobs, both inhouse and at firms.
