Does anyone else find their energy levels can change in a matter of minutes?

As per the title, does anyone else experience this? I can suddenly be barely able to keep my eyes open and in the other direction, my energy levels can increase (although the change in this direction is always far less marked) and is only a small/medium improvement in energy. It's how quickly my energy levels change that I find bewildering. Anyone else?

ETA: It really feels like my body is possessed. I've experienced life without these symptoms so I know what something reasonably normal feels like, but this isn't it.

Therapist comments

So I've been seeing a therapist for a few weeks, not only because of ME/CFS, but a catalogue of issues that are ongoing in my life, however, today we mainly spoke about my health struggles in this regard.

He asked me what it would be like to be better and I said 'it would be wonderful, it would be amazing, my life would have so many more possibilities'. He asked me what it felt like when I said that and I said 'well, it felt hopeful because I could imagine what it might be like'. Then he said that my face looked completely different and that I looked like a completely different person when I made those comments. Then he seemed to say that if I could access those feelings when I made those comments then I could access them all the time. In effect, he seemed to be saying that my ME/CFS (and I'm still not sure I have this diagnosis after going to the GP for years, but that's another issue) was psychological and he almost seemed to be saying that if I could access those feelings of 'hope' when I made those comments then if I could access them more often/for longer I would have more energy.

I'd already told him that I was having quite a good day today, so it's completely illogical in my mind to think that if someone can feel hopeful over a period of seconds on a good day that that can/will equate to an improvement in energy levels far beyond a time period of seconds. Hope is not energy. Plus if I can just 'think' my symptoms away, why do I wake up feeling quite good on some days and absolutely floored on others?

I'm honestly completely flummoxed and wanted to 'discuss' this with someone, but unfortunately don't know anyone that I know I could talk to openly about this. Needless to say, I won't be seeing him again. Even if there's no malice in his comments, they're non sensical so he's unlikely to be of much help to me anyway.

ETA: Earlier in the session, he'd tried to say that my episodes of unexplained chest pain, palpitations and shortness of breath, which accompany the fatigue, but only when it's very, very bad, could be panic attacks. However, he did ask me if I'd ever had other incidents that could have been a panic attack and I couldn't identify any occasion. I guess considering this and the other comments (above) made me think that he's quick to jump to psychology as an explanation when medical tests haven't identified anything, but many of the comments to my post have been very interesting so I appreciate the time and effort that has been put into responding.

AITH

Would be interested in a different perspective on this. Met a guy at an event organised by a FB group a couple of months ago. Seemed to get along well. We've kept in touch since and have tried to meet up (he asked initially), but it's been difficult. I guess it's hard to tell why it's been difficult (on my end, when he first asked, I'd just had some bad news about my Mum's health). He's said that work was busy, but I don't really know. Anyway, he messaged again last week about meeting up this week. We were supposed to be meeting up on Wed, but he cancelled on Tues eve saying something had come up. Not ideal given I've been blown off twice at this stage, but ok.

THEN, on the FB group on Tues eve I see him asking another woman to meet up and/or chat. Now, we haven't even gone out or anything so I can see that he owes me nothing really, but is it not poor form to behave like this? I mean, I'm keeping an eye on the apps...I don't know this guy, BUT CRUCIALLY I'm not playing anything else out right in front of him.

He's widowed and was with her for a long time so is not used to dating etc, but I don't even think this is about dating. Surely if someone is trying to find time to meet you (I also have a lot going on), you at least treat them with kindness and consideration? Or am I in the wrong to be annoyed?

Certification of documents in a personal capacity, but with work details

Hi

I already bank with FD and have done for years. I have PoA for my Mum (who is now in a care home) and thought I'd move her banking from Halifax/Lloyds to simplify it and also make it easier for me (on account of the fact that customer service by FD is generally good) and I already bank with them.

It's been a nightmare for various reasons and I think I'm giving up on the idea now. However, one of the issues was that FD wanted a certified copy of a bank account of Mum's. Fine. I'd asked my friend (a chartered accountant) if she could do this for me. However, they said that my friend was to certify in a personal capacity, but also provide her work phone number and address. When I pointed out this was inconsistent, they just said 'these are our requirements...' My friend doesn't even have a work phone number anyway...

I think I'm giving up with FD anyway. The whole process of trying to apply for this account has been ridiculous with conflicting advice at every turn, but has anyone come across this? i.e. requests for certified documents to be certified in a personal capacity, but with work information?

Thanks
