What happened to genuinely scary horror bl? (e.g. Paintings of Terror or Kaleidoscope of Death)
I'm having a super hard time finding true horror bl after getting back into bl. I was always fond of horror. Last one I remember reading is Death Spiral which I really liked.
However, going through recent releases on novelupdates and jjwxc, it feels like horror is different now. I can't seem to find long, spine-tingling horror stories. There is a distinct lack of unfair, terrifying, and brutal infinite flow.
Majority of horror now seems to be about overpowered protagonists breezing through infinite flow games. Not just being strong but literally never suffering at any point in the story. On the contrary, they are literally the menace in the novel and I'm feeling bad for the ghosts.
Is this my imagination, am I searching wrong? Are they just harder to find?
