1948 Ford 8N - Won't Start - sounds like the Starter maybe
Helping my buddy fix his tractor. This 1948 Ford 8N has been converted to 12V, and the starter solenoid is getting ~12.6volts at the terminals. I'm just looking for some confirmation, and maybe some tips besides what I've found on youtube and web searches. (I've watched these for some guidance YT Video 1 - diagnosis, YT Video 2 - fix). I'm planning on likely having to take the starter out - but don't know if I should expect to need a new one?
Besides taking out the starter, I've seen that rocking the tractor in 4th gear might free the bendix, thoughts, or just any thoughts in general? Much appreciated.
