New Bush Hog
Just delivered today. Had to replace my old Rhino TW72 that died. Dealer said they could no longer get parts for the Rhino. And I just replaced the stump jumper and installed new blades last year. Upgraded to a BH316.

Cockshutt 550 with homemade forklift attachment.
Old school tractors are the only way. Mechanical injection pumps, and no electronics and most importantly…. Right to repair.
Took some photos of Massey Ferguson 385 Tractor today. It’s an 85 HP tractor with a 4.41 Perkins Engine four cylinder diesel and 8 forward / 2 reverse gears.
The 385 4WD is a pretty interesting machine, especially seeing the size and layout of it in person. I also noticed a few details in the photo that aren't always obvious from the usual specification sheets.
I put the photo and the specs I could find together here for anyone interested:

If anyone here has experience with the MF 385 4WD, I'd be interested to hear how they found it in actual field work.
That’s 15.5mph for the Americans, Cockshutt 550
Ok im buying 9 acres of flat clear land. Im wanting to buy a compact tractor which will used to pull a 6-7ft cutter and also front end loader use here and there. My wife and i will trade out who cuts the property.
My biggest problem right now is deciding on the brand. I have john deere, kubota, kioti, yanmar, and mahindra dealers all within the same distance from my home. I can even order a bad boy if i want. Whats everyones legit opinions on which is better without picking one just because youre a fanboy?
Il be getting one around 25-30hp at the PTO
what's a good place to search for used tractors? fb marketplace aint it haha
Hi guys just looking to see if this is a good deal or not?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
TIA!
I own a portable toilet company, looking at getting a sub-compact to help move things around the yard or events. I’m assuming Kubota is probably choice 1? But what would options 2/3 be. And what should I stay away from? Whatever I go with will have turf tires, loader and forks.
17,400 hours. Gas engine. She runs great. Leaks like a sive, but, This thing is a tank.
This 1942 Lanz tractor is equipped with a wood gas generator at the front. Due to the ongoing war and the resulting fuel shortage, alternatives had to be sought. In addition to the wood gas generator shown here, there were also vehicles powered by bottled gas. The principle of the wood gas generator can be roughly explained as follows:
The wood is heated intensely inside the generator.
Due to a limited supply of oxygen, it does not burn completely.
This process produces so-called wood gas, which consists of methane, hydrogen, and carbon monoxide, among other substances.
The resulting gas is fed to the engine, allowing the vehicle to run.
The disadvantage is obvious: the engine does not deliver the same power output as it would with diesel or gasoline. Furthermore, the gas contains impurities that accumulate in the engine, leading to carbon buildup and—depending on the type of wood—the formation of a sticky, sludge-like residue. This results in higher maintenance requirements.
Using the Ford 8530 and the John Deere 348 Saturday making some nice bricks
My grandpa left me a 1948 John Deere model B and after the past few days of constant work I got it to start and drive around our yard. However, the engine was very sputtery and even after running for the while would die with the choke being turned off. The throttle was also very sticky and slow reacting. Just looking for some ideas of what maintenance I need to do. My worst fear is carburetor troubles but I’m afraid that’s where it’s going.
just found me a John Deere 1240 4 row 38" planter for $600. It's going to plant an acre of sweet corn next year!
Massey 98, current tires are just falling apart on the rear, they are BF Powersaver. By falling apart I mean one blew out, won’t hold air.
I don’t really have plans to build it up as a pulling tractor, just mainly my grandpa owned the tractor, I will never sell it and tractor pulls are about the only thing I can do with it, no hydraulics and no PTO.
I don’t mind putting a little money in it so new rear tires are an option, radials or bias. Heard a lot of talk about fire stone 23 degree.
But what do you all suggest? Find some used hard rubber tires and throw on it or brand new tires?
Tractor has 34” lighter hubs with wheel weights on inside of tire. Current tire is 18.4-34
Tractor is all original, so not all painted up. Will be pulling in the Ohio area. Thanks
I don't use my tractor that often. Probably 2 days every 3 months. I will always disconnect the battery before storing it. Do you think a good battery can stand not being used for 3 months?
What if it died, how can I charge it?
Some photos of the last couple of months, season is not over but it’s almost the end.
I have a few acres of grassland and a bit of woodland coppice. I don’t have much spare cash to buy farm equipment, but I do have an old Land Rover. I’m pretty much only pulling and towing stuff so far, and I could see the use of being able to pull a mower deck, maybe a tiller and roller to level a few bits. Is there a reason I wouldn’t be able to do this with a Land Rover with the transmission in low ratio? What is the benefit of a tractor?
Any ideas what could be causing this issue? Don’t want to make it worse by driving but need to get it inside before the rain.
