Hi, I’m new to Reddit and I’m a little confused about how karma requirements work.

Does the amount of karma needed to post/comment vary from subreddit to subreddit? More importantly, is there any general idea of how much karma I need before my posts stop getting automatically removed by Reddit’s filters?

I’m not talking about a specific subreddit, just trying to understand how the system works.
