What am I missing??
Got this 10e at an estate sale and want to use it as a drill press, but seem to be missing a pin or two in order for it to stand vertical. Please let me know what I am missing. Thanks!

Self collected and carved jade from Northern California. Stripped the copper wire from throwaways at a construction site.
Hello,
I’m a newbie male therapist. I work in community mental health, and all my coworkers are female, trans, or non-binary.
I’ve found people regularly comment on how rare/special it is to have a male therapist around. I understand where they are coming from, but also feels like an odd way that patriarchy ultimately benefits men even in female dominated professions.
So I guess I’m curious how others have seen gender play out in the job market, workplace, or in the field with clients? Is it an income gap? Referral gap? Workplace privilege?
To be clear, my motives rest in equity and equality. Perhaps by having an open discussion on it, we can better address issues that exist.
Thanks!
I picked up this machine yesterday, my first cabbing machine & trim saw combo!
The guy I bought it from restored it after a friend passed and his kids were going to take it to the dump.
He didn’t know much about lapidary, and I’m a rookie. So any one with info about this machine or Star Diamond in general would be appreciated.
A guy on marketplace is asking $599 for this. He says the wheels and saw all have life left - and that the buffing pad is new.
Right now I’m using a Vevor wet tile polisher. I really want to carve stones I find but am hesitant to spend lots of money. A small hi tech flat lap seems like an obvious upgrade, but $700 is a lot of money. How much of an upgrade do you think it would feel like?
I found this rock that was a mix of quartz and it looked to have some gold flakes, so I busted it open. It looks golden, but I’m not sure how to tell.
Found in Northern California
I’ve been collecting nephrite and agates I find across Northern California for years now, always hoping to afford a saw so I can see the insides! This week I got a 12 inch Lortone saw from an estate sale of a lady who was an avid collector. May she rest in peace and know the saw is with someone who will take care of it!
I’m wanting to get more into astrophotography, the expertise in this sub is amazing and intimidating! That said, the stars in the Kalahari were incredible!
Lumix G9, 30mm, f/2.8, 20 second exposure, ISO 4000.
It is a single image, edited in Adobe Lightroom. Scaled up the contrast, lowered the temperature. Applied separate masking to the lower and higher luminosity to further enhance contrast. Minor increases in the saturation.
