Injury-site injection vs. abdominal injection — advice?

What are everyone’s thoughts and experiences with injecting at the injury site vs. sticking with abdominal injections?

I buggered up my shoulder again (grrr) and I’m interested in trying site-specific injections, but I’m not 100% sure how to approach it. There’s basically zero subcutaneous fat around my shoulder, so I’m wondering:

  • Is the goal to inject into the muscle itself?
  • How close to the actual injury site should the injection be?
  • Does injection depth matter?
  • How do people determine dosage/concentration for site injections vs. abdominal injections?

I’m currently using a Wolverine blend.

Looking mainly for experiences from people who have actually done injury-site injections and what they found worked—or didn’t.

How do you handle the “how can you afford that?” questions?

For those of you who aren’t overtly wealthy—or maybe fall into the “stealth wealth” category—how do you handle the inevitable questions and assumptions when you start spending money on some fun things?
We’ve had several really good years financially and have put money aside specifically to enjoy some of it. We’re putting in a pool, and I’m getting a fun car to drive. Nothing crazy relative to our overall financial situation, but I’ll probably have spent $150k+ on things that I normally wouldn’t spend that kind of money on. I’m already anticipating the direct and indirect questions:“How did you afford that?” “Did you get a raise?”“Is that new?” “Wow, you guys must be doing really well.” I generally try to just brush it off, but I’m curious how others handle it.

Do you just say “we saved for it,” give a vague answer, joke about it, or actually explain that you’ve been financially responsible for a long time and can afford to splurge occasionally? I’m not trying to flaunt anything. Genuinely I am asking. I don’t work a glamorous job, all of my money is from previous ventures. I probably really don’t look like I should be affording stuff like this. TIA

How to find a reputable transporter?

This is LONG. Sorry and thank you for your help.

TLDR: looking for info on auto transportation insurance and terms

I'm in the process of finding a new-to-me sports car and want to have it transported to me in an enclosed trailer.

I'm trying to figure out what I should be looking for when it comes to the carrier's insurance and coverage, but honestly, a lot of the terminology is like a different language to me.

I've tried AI and searching around, but I'm still not sure what coverage and limits I should be looking for or what questions I should be asking the transport company.

I've put together a list of questions and requirements. Would anyone mind looking it over and letting me know if what I'm asking for is reasonable, or if I'm being overly cautious?

I'd especially like to know if the documentation I'm requesting is excessive and whether the insurance limits I'm asking for make sense.

I'd really appreciate any advice from people who have experience with enclosed vehicle transport. I am not expecting to pass this as a questionnaire to the business but it is to help guide me and remember what to ask. My list is below. Yes, I had AI clean it up so it makes more sense to other people than it did when I wrote it:

Enclosed Vehicle Transport — Requirements & Questions

Carrier & Licensing

  • Are you the actual carrier, or are you a broker or both?
  • If you are a broker, who will actually transport my vehicle?
  • What is the carrier's legal business name and FMCSA/MC number?
  • Is the carrier's interstate operating authority currently active?
  • How long has the carrier been operating?

Insurance

  • Provide a current Certificate of Insurance (COI) before pickup.
  • What is your commercial auto liability limit? Preferably $1 million or more
  • What is your cargo insurance limit and maximum coverage per vehicle? Coverage should exceed the full value of my vehicle
  • What is the cargo insurance deductible? Preferably $1,000 or less
  • Does the cargo policy cover the vehicle while it is in your care, custody, and control?
  • Does coverage include: Collision, Theft, Fire, Hail/weather, Road debris, Loading/unloading damage
  • Is the cargo policy all-risk or named-perils?
  • What are the major exclusions or limitations?
  • Does the policy cover high-value, exotic, and performance vehicles?
  • How is the vehicle's value determined if it is totaled?
  • Are aftermarket modifications and equipment covered?
  • Is diminished value covered after a repair?

Enclosed Transport

  • Is the vehicle transported 100% enclosed from pickup to delivery?
  • Will it ever be transferred to another carrier or trailer?
  • Will the vehicle remain on the same trailer for the entire trip?
  • How many vehicles will be transported with mine?
  • Is the trailer equipped to safely load a low-clearance vehicle?
  • What type of tie-down system do you use?
  • Do you use soft straps around the tires rather than chains attached to suspension components?
  • How do you protect vehicles from other vehicles' fluids or debris?

Damage Prevention & Inspection

  • How do you handle low front splitters and low ground clearance during loading?
  • Will you use ramps/boards if necessary to prevent scraping?
  • Will you complete a Bill of Lading/condition report at pickup?
  • Will all existing damage be documented with photographs?
  • Can I photograph/video the vehicle during the pickup inspection?
  • Will I receive a copy of the signed condition report?
  • How is the vehicle inspected at delivery?

Claims

  • What is the procedure and deadline for filing a damage claim?
  • Who handles the claim—the carrier or insurance company?
  • What documentation is required?
  • How long do claims typically take to resolve?
  • What happens if the carrier or insurer denies the claim?

Contract & Liability

  • Can I review the complete transport contract before paying a deposit?
  • Does the contract limit the carrier's liability below the actual value of my vehicle?
  • Are there exclusions for acts of God, weather, flooding, or falling objects?
  • What happens if the vehicle is damaged during loading, unloading, or storage?
  • What happens if the vehicle is delayed or stored at a terminal?

Pickup & Delivery

  • What are the pickup and delivery windows?
  • Is transportation door-to-door?
  • Will the vehicle ever be stored at a terminal?
  • How much advance notice will I receive before pickup and delivery?
  • Can I fully inspect the vehicle before signing the delivery paperwork?

Your Own Insurance

  • Ask your auto insurer whether your vehicle is covered while being transported by a commercial carrier.
  • If so, is your coverage primary or secondary to the carrier's cargo insurance?
  • What deductible would apply?

🚩 Red Flags

  • Won't provide a current COI
  • Won't provide the actual carrier's FMCSA/MC number
  • Won't identify the company actually transporting the vehicle
  • Cargo coverage is less than the vehicle's value
  • Can't provide the per-vehicle cargo limit
  • Large or unclear deductible
  • Insurance cannot be independently verified
  • Contract significantly limits liability
  • Vehicle may be transferred to another carrier without disclosure
  • Pressure to pay immediately
  • Unusually low price compared with reputable enclosed carriers

Minimum Standard for Car

  • 100% enclosed transport
  • $1M+ commercial liability
  • $250K–$500K cargo insurance
  • Per-vehicle coverage greater than the cars actual value
  • $1,000 or less deductible
  • Collision, theft, fire, weather, loading and unloading coverage
  • Verified FMCSA authority
  • Actual carrier identified before pickup
  • Full contract provided before deposit
  • Detailed condition report and photographs at pickup and delivery

Who do you talk to?

TL;DR: If you're "stealth wealth," who do you talk to about money problems when only your spouse/SO and financial advisor know what you actually have?

I'm what some people would have "stealth wealth." I'm not yet at a decent net worth, but I've accumulated enough that I don't really fit in with the financial situations of most people around me. I drive an older truck, live in a nice but modest house that's well below what I could comfortably afford, wear basic clothes (Amazon to J.Crew kinda range), and usually have my G-Shock on my wrist. If you asked my friends or coworkers what they think I make, they'd probably guess somewhere around $100k–150k per year.

The reality is... it's a bit more than that.

Lately I've reached the point where I feel comfortable spending money on things I've wanted for years. They're not frivolous purchases, but they're definitely outside my normal spending habits.

That has led me to something I never expected: I have no one to talk to for advice or to vent my frustrations.

Other than my wife and my financial advisor, no one knows our financial situation. That's very intentional. The problem is that the financial issues I'm dealing with aren't things most of my friends can relate to, and I don't blame them.

For example, we're putting in a pool. It started as an approximately $80,000 project, and between unforeseen issues it's now over $100,000. At the moment, all I have is a very expensive hole in the ground, with who knows what additional costs still to come.

The guys I work with talk about the above-ground pools they bought from Walmart. My closest friends are doing well, but a $5,000 HVAC replacement was a major financial hit for them this summer—to the point that it cancelled their family vacation. I can't exactly vent to them about writing another $25,000 check to my general contractor that has no perceptible efffect on me or my family because the project went over budget. It feels tone-deaf, even though it's genuinely frustrating.

So that's my question:

If you're in a similar financial position, who do you talk to? How do you handle problems that are very real to you but would sound completely out of touch to people who are living paycheck to paycheck—or even to those who are simply middle class and doing fine?

I'm not looking for sympathy because the pool went over budget. I'm genuinely curious how other people in this situation find peers they can have honest conversations with without revealing their finances to everyone they know.

Or is that one of the reasons communities like r/Wealth exist? Do you just talk to anonymous strangers on the internet, where you have no idea whether the person replying has a $100 net worth or a $100 million net worth, but the anonymity makes it easier to have those conversations?

When can I buy a toy car

I am in my 40’s. I have been a car guy my whole life. I haven’t owned anything other than family movers since I had kids. I finally feel like my net worth allows me to purchase a toy car to drive. Stats: nw: $5.5m usd, liquid assets $4.0m, debt $350k house, no other debt. I am looking at a used Audi R8 for about $120-150k.

Take away the idea that a car is a depreciating asset and a terrible financial decision: does it look as financially responsible as possible that buying a sports car can be with my above numbers?

What did you learn to look for after owning an R8

I am looking to buy a new to me V10 Manual car. I have a preference of a coupe but may take the right spyder. I am test driving and looking at one Saturday. What would you look for as problems or unforeseen problems. I am not referring to the usual suspects of suspension, brakes etc. something you didn't know to look for before you owned your R8.

Coupe vs Roadster question

I’ve been searching for a manual V10 R8 for quite a while, but unfortunately I haven’t had the opportunity to drive either the Coupe or the Spyder where I live.

I’ve noticed there’s a significant price difference between the two. I understand the Coupe has the performance advantage on a track due to its added chassis rigidity and lower weight, but I’m not looking for a track car. My plan is to use it primarily as a GT car for weekend drives, road trips, and spirited drives on public roads.

Price is a consideration, but for the sake of discussion, let’s assume the $20,000–$50,000 difference isn’t the deciding factor.

For those who have owned or driven both:
Am I going to regret buying the Spyder?
Aside from the obvious loss of the Coupe’s roofline and the fact that everyone can see the old guy behind the wheel, what would I actually be missing?
Does the Coupe feel noticeably more special or more engaging on the road, or is the open-top experience of the Spyder worth the trade-offs for GT driving?

I’d appreciate hearing from people who have real seat time in both rather than just comparing specs on paper.
