Speculations on the new model this summer?

CEO Arthur Mensch promised us that, this summer, a new model (and model family) will be released soon.

Early access in July so presumably a new model in August or later?

Available for research, government and industry? Would the order be relevant? Especially since the acquisition of Emmi AI.

I think this would be a model family of AI's specialized in engineering and the sciences, with a large parameter all practically dedicated to mathematics, physics, biology, etc.

So I think the sparse indicates these individual subjects: i.e a Maths model, a physics simulation model, etc. A Mixture-of-Experts based model?

I wonder if coding would be a part of this? Personally, I ask why not? But MM3.5 is already strong in coding, so why dedicate another development cycle to coding?

I don't know: just food for thought I guess. Let me know what you all think!

What is Astra Europa's view on Georgism?

Let me preface this by saying that I am a huge advocate for Georgism as described by the famous author Henry George in his revolutionary book 'Progress and Poverty' that was hyper-influantial in the Progressive Era in the late 19th century.

His theory and advocacy about a Land Value Tax (LVT) is, in my opinion: logical, just and hyper-efficient.

It is generally agreed upon that an LVT -if implemented liberally according to Georgist principles, i.e: remove/simplifying zoning, removing parking minimums, etc- has tremendous benefits, including:

  1. The promotion of dense urbanization;
    • Resulting in walkable cities that have the benefit of
      • Increased economic activity
      • Increased benefit in well-being and physical health
      • Development of a more local community
      • Less CO2 emissions; car usages is less efficient
  2. The optimization of land usage
    • Resulting in an improvement in productivity, since land will be allocated to those that utilize it's land more productively (since that relatively lowers the tax)
  3. Discouraging land-hoarding & Lower rents
    • Holding land is taxed so much so that any holding of land, while the land is increasing in value, the profits will be non-existent
    • Landlords can't increase rent as that would mean that the land on which the house sits increased in value (as the house cannot simply be increased overnight);
      • This would mean genuine competition among landlords as a price hike means more taxation and a possibility of losing the tenant; so a race-to-the bottom effect OR selling the property.
  4. The burden of taxation falls on those with greater assets
    • As landownership correlates strongly with wealth.
  5. Economically, it is the only tax that doesn't distort behavior-
    • - as the land supply is fixed and taxing it doesn't reduce its availabilty nor discourage productive use, unlike taxation on labor or capital.
      • This has all kinds of extra benefits like freeing up money for consumption, investments and innovations: driving economic growth further.

Having done my advocacy, I am curious what Astra's views are regarding this policy?
And secondary (you may skip this question) what about the general theme towards Georgism? For instance; wide-spread Pigouvian taxation, taxation on natural resources, YIMBYism?

I think it aligns perfectly with the pragmatic theme Astra takes as evident in its manifesto.

I hope you take this in consideration and I am eagerly awaiting your answer.

Vraag over daten/relaties

Hoi allen

Laat ik het wel zo anoniem mogelijk en beknopt mogelijk uitleggen.

Gister was ik op een infodag en daar kwam ik een hele leuke dame tegen.
Ik maakte met haar een praatje voordat de infodag begon en al gauw gingen we samen de rest van de dag met elkaar om + nog twee anderen. We vormden een groepje tijdens de pauzes. Het grootste deel van de infodag was zitten en luisteren, dus in die momenten konden we niet babbelen.

Ze lachtte vaak om mijn grappen tijdens de pauzes, en met haar omgaan was een enorm plezier. Ik merkte echt wel een klik in onze omgang.

Na de infodag konden we nog rond neuzen in het gebouw waar het gehouden werd en het oorspronkelijke groepje splitsen uiteen maar ze vroeg aan mij of ik nog baat had om het gebouw te ontdekken. Waarna ik uiteraard "Ja" antwoordde. We gingen samen het gebouw door, spraken veel met elkaar en ik heb haar beter leren kennen. We lachtten veel samen en het voelde eigenlijk aan als een soort eerste date!

Uiteindelijk hadden we het gebouw wel uitgespeeld en gingen we richting de auto.

Tijdens het lopen naar de autos toe probeerde ik mezelf de moed te verzamelen om haar mijn nummer te geven, want anders zal ik enorm spijt hebben achteraf. Want de kans was nou eenmaal heel groot dat ik haar hierna niet meer zou zien.

Eenmaal bij de auto's bedankte ik haar voor de gezelligheid en vroeg dus nog aan haar of ik mijn nummer aan haar mag geven, waarop ze: "Ja zeker!" zei en overhandigde haar telefoon aan mij.

Ik dacht ik geef mij nummer ipv vragen voor haar nummer, aangezien ik dat netter vind en dan kan zij nog bepalen of ze mij wilt benaderen of niet.

Mijn telefoonnummer in haar telefoon gezet, en daarna gedag gezegd.

Nu is mijn vraag: Hoe lang zal dat duren voordat ze mij een bericht zal sturen?
Want het is nu een dag geleden, en ik heb niks van haar gehoord.

Ik weet niet of dat erg is, want dit is werkelijk de eerste keer dat ik een dame mijn nummer gaf: en uberhaupt de eerste keer dat ik een nagenoeg vreemde mijn nummer gaf.

Heeft iemand inzicht die die kan brengen? Wat moet ik doen? Want heel eerlijk, ik ben echt f****ing nerveus

Edit: Misschien relevante info? We zijn allebei rond de twintig en ik weet dat zij nog studeert.

Edit2: 24 uur later en nog steeds geen gehoor...... te vroeg om de handdoek in de ring te gooien?

Mijn appreciatie en dank voor de defensie-medewerkers bij de voorlichting vandaag!

Ik had vandaag de gelegenheid de I&S voorlichting in het Nationaal Militair Museum te mogen bijwonen en ik ben uitzonderlijk geïntrigererd geraakt door alle fantastische en informatieve presentaties.

Dankbaar voor de gastvrijheid en een hele goede eerste indruk!
