Quick wrap up of the new info from the Anime Expo presentation.

Rise Kujikawa will be voiced by Abby Trott, who also voiced Takemi in P5.

Animated cut scenes by Mappa. I'm not a big anime guy but I think they did Attack on Titan?

The Persona 4 animes will stream for free on YouTube.

Rest was stuff we already kinda knew, new merch and developers saying thank you while Yosuke's voice actor giggled.

Overall not a great load of new info but cool none the less.

What do you guys think about Linked Episodes fully replacing Social Links in 6? I had this idea but let me explain.

So in 3 to 5, you have SLs, or Confidants which work by choosing an answer and getting "points" towards the next rank up. I personally feel this is a bit anti-role playing as, due to the time constraints, you tend to look up the "correct" answer to maximise the points to save as many days as possible. Instead of answering how you want to shape the MC, you choose an answer to suit the game.

In Persona 3 Reload they introduced Linked Episodes. As some party members in P3 didn't have SLs they added these to give every party member a storyline. They work in pretty much the same way, spend time with them, get a Persona at the end. But the key difference was there was no "points" system to worry about, you could chose any answer based on what you wanted and you wouldn't miss out on days trying to top up the rank.

Personally I find this system a lot better as it feels more like a role playing game, you can chose to be a certain way with a character and it also encourages different routes in replays.

In Metaphor Refantazio you got bonus points for choosing a "better" answer but it didn't cost you time. I think a similar reward system could be included in P6 but it would have to be tailored to Persona somehow.

Also, there's potential for diverging paths. Choose certain options and their story could change. If you help them make decisions one way or another it could change their whole link story. This would need a lot of work but it's far more flexible and potentially game changing than social links. They could also time them around story events too, though that could be more of a limitation.

So what do you think? Good idea or hell no?

Edit - fair few people seem to think I either don't get the SL system or I don't like it - not the case 😂 just wanted to see how it could evolve or change is all

One thing I hope they do as a bonus to the soundtrack is rerecord some of the unused songs from Golden/OG/Arena/Anime but in the new style. They did this for Burn my Dread in 3R so I'm hopeful!

What songs would you like to see? Pursuing my true self and Shadow World are obvious contenders.

I'd love to hear Now I Know, Break Out, Way of Memories and Key Plus words from the various other media's. Do you have any non-main game songs you'd like to see remixed Revival style?
