Questions and musings about Mrs. Bennet and marriage to Mr. Wickham

After the umpteenth time of watching the 1995 P&P adaptation (which I love and adore), I wondered why Mrs. Bennet was so approving of her daughter’s marriage to him even though he: “deflowered” her daughter without the benefit of marriage, he had debts that had to be paid off, and he had a paltry income. Would they even have a place to live?  I thought she was so  anxious for her daughters to marry well. Or was she just anxious to have them married no matter what. And yes, I understand that these are fictional characters and we can only go by what JA wrote.  I still welcome your responses as they are generally awesome!

Frank Churchill vs Edward Ferris

This observation may have been addressed before, but why does it seem that commenters (of Sense and Sensibility) and even Elinor make Edward Ferrars to be honorable even though he did the same as Frank Churchill in Emma. They were both engaged and pretended that they were not and "formed attachments." Edward did lead Elinor on and Frank Churchill did the same with Emma. I'm new to period dramas so help me make sense of this supposed dichotomy.

In Persuasion, what makes Mr. Elliot's choice of wife considered low?

In Persuasion, why is Mr. Elliot frowned upon because he married a beautiful wealthy women? Isn't this what most of the gentlemen of that time did because they had no money? How is this different from Mr. Hurst in Pride and Prejudice or John Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility? Thoughts?
