Infusions not helping…

I have had anemia on and off for the last few years, but since having a baby over a year ago, my levels got super low again. I started taking iron + vitamin c as prescribed, and when that did nothing, I was sent in for 6 rounds of infusions. After the first round I got my period back (yay!), but it hasn’t returned since and I’m back to feeling weak, having a hard time recovering from races, and I feel dizzy when I get up. Should I follow back up with my PCP to try and figure out what to do next? I’m so exhausted 😵‍💫. Have any of you had infusions and it didn’t do much? Any advice on what to do next or labs to request?

Some context about me: I’m a mid 20s woman and I run a lot. I’ve done three 100 mile races this year, 4 marathons, 2 50ks, a 50 miler, and a few other races. So that doesn’t help.. 🫥.

At my breaking point

I’m 11 months PP and I’m nearing my breaking point. My patience with my partner and baby is growing limited and I’m simply not loving life.

I will start by saying that I have been seeing a perinatal therapist which has not been useful - and when depressed, it’s hard to show up for appointments.

But, I’m so tired. I work, my partner does not, but he is a completely useless stay at home parent. I am also breastfeeding. We recently started doing cups which has been a godsend. I love BF’ing, but it’s nice to have longer breaks now.

This whole journey has felt so lonely and so isolating. I do everything and I’m just so tired. I can’t keep doing this. But I don’t know what else to do. My partner isn’t the kindest or most patient when I’m having a hard day, and I’m just ready to be doing this alone. I feel like doing this alone would somehow be EASIER to do than in a partnership.

And now this is all a ramble. And I’m just not able to continue doing this. Alas.

Pumping + work bag?!

Hi!

I’m going to be working in-person more now and need to figure out some logistics!

1.) Have any of you found a bag that can accommodate for your pump and laptop? I’m known for having too many bags with me and want to minimize things. My office is a few blocks from my house so I plan to walk when working in-person.

2.) What is your pumping “setup” at work? My office has a nursing cube with a sink, chair, and outlet. I’ve been told to maybe bring a bin, soap, and brush to keep at my office to wash supplies in the sink?

3.) Making sure supply doesn’t dip. My baby is almost 8 months now and has almost exclusively been nursing. She just started taking a straw cup this week. How have you ensured that your supply doesn’t dip when returning to work?

Thanks!
