Is anyone’s close friends jealous of the relationship they have with their family?? I have a twin sister and I have a close relationship with my family and they are pissed when I I choose to hang out with them. It’s passive aggressive and weird. And it’s happened frequently. I’ve lost friends because I’ve chosen my twin sisters side over theirs. Like duh????

I’m a single 29 year old girl and I’ve been to 8 weddings in the last two years. It’s not just the wedding, it’s the engagement party, the bridal shower, the bachelorette, the welcome dinner, and then the actual wedding. I’ve spent so much money on each of these events, almost all of them required a hotel/travel costs, and then gifting for everything. I’ve been on 3 bachelorette trips, and just said no to another one happening in September (I wasn’t an official bridesmaid so I felt less bad declining). The wedding culture has gotten completely out of hand for people, and then when you’re the one having the wedding you feel compelled to do it all, and I’m soooo tired of it. Mind you, these aren’t even my best friends getting married these are close - regular friends/acquaintances 😭 does anyone else feel this way? I feel bad that I’m not as excited anymore when friends get engaged cause all I see is my wallet shirnking. It makes me not even want to have a wedding when I finally do find my person lol
