1965 K Code Heirloom — 54,435 miles — How best to proceed?

Hey gang,

The story goes that my dad got this from his dad, who got it from a barn way back when.

To make a long story short, dad passed away in 2016, and this here Mustang was titled to all three of us kids. We're trying to figure out what to do with it and examining some options. I don't think any of us really want to sell it...but it's being treated like a child of a divorce in terms of the conversations about its future. Trying to make an assessment of what it's worth...can't seem to find anyone who really knows what it's worth. Just keep getting told that it's a special piece (and it is for us too, for a few reasons).

As far as I know, everything's original save the carb, air filter, and battery. Been told the body and plate numbers match the block...haven't independently verified. Someone backed into it while it was in storage some years ago, so the front end was repaired...but other than that it's been the same as long as I've known it.

Anyone know what it's worth? If it's priceless, what maintenance can/should be done so as to restore it and increase its drivability? It needs some stuff...moderate rust underneath...some suspension stuff...exhaust has a hole...etc. We want to get it up to snuff but we keep getting so many different opinions as to whether or not to keep it original. Figured why not go to Reddit and source some opinions. Just trying to do right by her.

Any assistance you all can provide to answering both/either question(s) would be helpful. Appreciate you all.
