Phat Neut ,I think i was harsh

Hi,

i posted how I was happy with it as a pre wash but otherwise not sold on it.

Today I helped my neices clean up a kitchen of a house they are moving into ( rent). They sent me photos of the kitchen.

The kitchen whilst not shabby had dark brown grease "drips" on the walls and tiles where it looked like some sort of air fryer or something similar had been used for years. They used fairy liquid but it was a slog and not doing much.

Anyway I thought sod it, mix up some phat neut 100ml in 700mls and give it a go .Im not fussed about wasting it. I just sprayed it on, waited approx 60 seconds and wiped off with a bathroom towel.

It just came right off, no effort. Some areas needed a second hit but that was all. I then went on to use it on the pvc window frames in the immediate area and again from greasy to clean.

Yes yes yes I know there are bespoke kitchen cleaners for this but i was curious on what to do with this bottle I purchased.

To be honest I was gob smacked, so we're they, so was my brother. They couldn't believe it was a car detailing product.

Now ive seen people wonder how it would work on really dirty ,winter greasy , grimey surfaces? trust me this kitchen wall and tiles were bad.

If it worked on those I reckon it will handle a dirty, winter greasy car ,which has a smooth none porous surface with no issues.

Another daft post ( apologies) but I love carrying out experiments and testing theories ( old habit from my first profession).

Has car cleaning gone too far?

Morning,

My neighbour and myself were chatting late last evening about washing the cars. Both > 50 ( age).

We spoke about how much the car detailing world and products available for everyday people like us seems to have exploded over the last few years. It reminded me of how craft beer exploded in 2016 and just grew exponentially.

We both agreed on some things

a) there are more products now available which make car cleaning easier. back in the day prewashes , good wheel cleaners , good waxes or spray sealant didn't really exist and those that did definitely felt less effective.

b) so much choice of companies to suit all budgets

c) maybe too much choice, massive range of products can get confusing and costly

d) entertaining, its good watching videos of people trying out products and reviewing them , although we were sceptical about some reviewers.

e) devisive - like all things in life , especially now you're either correct or stupid, you should like this brand or you should not like it. Relax its car cleaning.

anyway thats all , keeps us active have a good day

Garage therapy website

Am I being thick just tried to order some bau items such as car shampoo etc from the garage therapy website and they are out of stock for the last week and a bit.

Plus there's items ive seen such on YouTube videos like ceramic spray 3 which is no where to be found on their website .

I really want to buy a lot of their items without going to several different retailers and spending extra cash on shipping.

Strange..

Phat neut as snowfoam prewash

Please note this is a silly test. But I wanted to see if I used in a snowfoam what would happen.

It was quite a loose watery foam at 200ml of product it clung on vertical surfaces for 45 seconds max ( depending on surface) as a foam but was present for longer as a solution, i left it for 5 minutes.

My advise don't use in snowfoam gun. Let me be the idiot who tests this for you ha ha .

I was hoping ( stupidly I know, so relax folks) I could use its online observed cleaning power as a ph neutral exceptional snowfoam.

The results suggest either/or I needed more product, its not intended to be used like this but it did do something.

anyway it was a bit of fun.

Squid Ink Fotress is ace

Hi, i bought some squid ink detailing products and I have to say im so impressed the sheer depth and finish ive got on my car using Fotress. The plastic guard is also very good.

I applied Fotress with a microfiber pad, a think coat, a panel at a time, wipe on, count to 5, wipe off and a quick gentle buff. I waited 2 hours and applied a second coat ( not required but I felt like it). Its pretty solvent heavy so I would advise washing application pads etc in the washing machine when your partner is not in the house.

The plastic guard is a doodle to use and gives a deep dark none sticky finish to the trim.

I hardly see any mention of this UK company on social media, I see plenty of yum but never this. why

Any way heres some photos ,what do you think? The photos seem to have been cropped ( odd)

Bilt Hamber Phat Nuet

Right after seeing it on a few youtube channels I thought i would buy some and try it out.

Garage therapy rinseless is my go to but im always curious about newer stuff, especially from Bilt hamber as they do make good products.

Did it work as a rinseless- yes it cleaned the car

Did it work as a prewash- yes on a lightly dirty car but need to test it when car is really grubby.

Did I enjoy using it - Now don't shoot me down everyone has different ideas of what makes a product good , meh, bad. It can be cost/brand/user experience/effectiveness etc etc.

I just didn't enjoy using it, I found it left the paint really grabby during and after drying, on a few areas it left milky streaks ( which did wipe away with medium effort), it had some impact on the beading of my ceramic spray sealant which came back after I washed with a shampoo. It didn't degrade the sealant it just seemed to impact the water behaviour.

What do i think, well if its a powerful as has been shown on some youtube videos and is ph neutral then I will definitely use it going forwards as a pre wash. But I will stick to Garage therapy rinseless as I prefer the user experience.

I appreciate Bilt hamber has dedicated users and I do like quite a few of the products so please be kind and dont shoot me down.
