Morgan

Anyone else find it curious that “Morgan” is introduced in the S1 Finale—final scene of Will and Hayley, it’s 10 p.m. on their wedding night, Hayley gets a message and ignores it/lies to Will—and then >!!<Morgan isn’t mentioned again for almost two seasons and around a year or so later in the show? And then it’s just casually dropped that Morgan is her ex? And now Hayley moving two time zones away to work with her?>!!<

For Hayley having next to zero screen time this season (not complaining), they sure made this buildup seem rather dramatic, and drawn out. I don’t know what my theory here is, but I find it curious.

Unbuckling Chest Latch while Driving

Y’all, my 4 year old has developed this new skill where she unlatches her chest buckle while I’m driving. I’ve pulled over, calmly explained why it’s unsafe, and rebuckled her multiple times. She‘s definitely in a boundary pushing phase 😅.

But all the suggestions online are about not going to the fun place, turning around and going home, or stopping in a safe space and not going until she’s buckle, etc. My child is only doing this when we‘re *on the way home*. She‘s procrastinating and acting out because she wants to stay doing “fun” things. (We are not short on fun things at home.)

I’m not to the point of using aftermarket products on her car seat, but am looking for some boundary setting ideas that will help with her specific reasons for this behavior. (Not wanting to go home.) TIA!!

Recurring Swimmers Ear + Itchy Ears

HELP! This seems to be the sub with the most helpful info regarding swimmers ear infections. For background, I got them all the time as a kid and now every few years as an adult (36F). I get them from showering/humid weather, not just swimming. And I’ve had an ENT say he thinks I overproduce ear wax.

As a kid, I used the homemade “ear beer” drops, but they’d dry my ears out so much that they’d get *super* itchy, and I’d scratch at my ears thus still getting infections. As an adult, using Qtips has actually seemed to help lessen the frequency because I’m removing wax and getting them dry, but I know the Qtips themselves could be causing infections.

So my question/plea is: What prevention combo has worked best to dry ears out, prevent wax build up AND keep ears soothed from itchiness? I can’t take the pain of infections any longer and I just know there has to be a better way!!

TIA.

Autumn Blaze Maple issues

We bought this Autumn Blaze Maple and had it planted by the nursery three years ago. We‘re in northeast Oklahoma. Late last year we noticed the bark starting to split and the leaves browning in late summer, but overall it’s been growing fine and we didn’t worry too much. Now it’s only late June and some of the leaves seemed stressed and upon researching, realized the mulch should be up to the trunk. I pulled it back just now… but what else can I do to help this tree?

Car Seats & Disneyland

So, we just got back from Disneyland. We took my 3 year old’s car seat. We gate checked it on the flights there/back (it and she are really too big for it to have worked on the plane like previous trips), used it in every uber/lyft from the airport to The Viv to the parks, took it through security and checked it at the scooter rental place.

We obviously saw HUNDREDS of kids coming from the rideshare drop off area. and I swear we were the only ones lugging a toddler car seat. Security was super weird with us every time we brought it through.

Am I missing something? With the ART bus service shut down now, how in the heck are people getting by without lugging around car seats?! We even checked the car seat option on the rideshare apps and availability with super limited. I’d love a better solution for next time.

EDIT: I‘m specifically asking how parents took ride shares to the parks with no one in sight lugging a car seat. We were the only ones with a toddler car seat leaving the ride share area each day—the math ain’t mathing!!
