Need Ring Resized
Does anyone have any recommendations for a jeweler to resize rings? My fiance ordered my engagement and wedding rings online, so we don't have the option to go back to where we got them from. Thank you!

Does anyone know of any tattoo shops in town that will be doing Practical Magic flash in the next month? Practical Magic 2 is coming out on September 11, and I'd love to get a tattoo to commemorate one of my favorite movies. I've seen some shops doing flash down by LA or in Northern California, and I think I follow most if not all of the shops in Bakersfield, but I haven't seen any advertisements for flash here. Thank you!
My return to work date was supposed to be 8/15, but my doctor wants to extend my leave. I haven't received any forms to fill out, and I've checked my available forms a couple times this week to see if it's popped up, but nothing is available yet. When can I expect it? Will I get an email tomorrow and I've just not waited long enough?
I am looking for a seamstress to hem my wedding dress, tighten the straps, and add a bit of a modesty panel to the front. Does anyone have any recommendations in Bakersfield, preferably SW, but willing to drive.
I'm starting a new job soon, and I'm looking for business casual wear for very warm temps. It's been in the triple digits here for a couple weeks now, and during the interview process, I visited the office where I'll be working a few times. It was always warm, and my soon-to-be boss told me that they've had trouble with the central air keeping up. 😬 I've picked up a couple sleeveless georgette tops to wear under a blazer, but it's going to be too warm to wear a blazer all day, probably until January. Where do you get your lightweight, breathable work wear in the US?
For those of you who already work for the state, how long did it take for you to find a job with them? And for those of you still looking, how long have you been applying?
I have been on SDD for 7 months and I've started looking for a new job. Most of it has to do with knowing I won't be able to handle my old job even with reasonable accommodations. Has anyone done this, and if so, did you tell your new employer that you're on a leave? I don't want to tell them, but I'm wondering if there is a circumstance where it would be beneficial to tell a company looking to hire you that you've been on leave. Or just better to keep my mouth shut? Thank you!
I have been with the same employer for 2.5 years, but I've been on a leave of absence for the last 6 months. Last week, a recruiter reached out to me asking if I'd be interested in a position, and it was right up my alley. I was asked to interview, and have now made it to the final interview round.
I'm worried about what to say if they ask to speak to my current employer. I have a previous supervisor there that I could direct them to, but I don't really want my current supervisors to talk to them (not because of anything I've done that I have to worry about coming to light, but because they've been pissed at me for taking leave for an important and well documented reason).
Do you think it would be okay to say "I don't feel comfortable having you speak to my current supervisor because they don't know I'm interviewing elsewhere. However, I would be comfortable putting you in contact with my former supervisor in the same position." If not, what could I say instead?
I am 6 months into a medical leave and have been on disability most of that time. In early June, I had an independent medical examination. The state said that I would hear back within 10 business days. When I didn't get my normal notice of payment on June 29th, I called on the 30th and the representative said that they hadn't received the report from the physician yet. I asked about being paid, and they said that the latest they could pay me through was June 15th, but that they would wait to pay me until they heard back from the doctor.
This morning, I received a notice of payment, and it was for the full amount it usually is, not just for one day. However, I still haven't received a letter about the exam. Does full payment mean that my disability has been extended? Does anyone have experience with this?
Yes, I could spend hours trying to call EDD again, but I truly want to know if anyone has experienced this. TIA
