Maybe don't spoil the season after the first episode?

Not sure if this channel is official or if there's any point to this post at all, aside from just wanting to vent :D I know i can just skip this... but it's soooo stupid to preview the entire season at the end of the first episode. Even if they're "carefully curated spoilers" they're still spoilers

Small talk hate? Or middle talk?

I hate the thought of small talk more than the actual small talk.... I kinda like bumping in to colleagues and briefly interacting: i feel I've got better at it in "my own style": funny but genuine. I'm not a "wow how about that sports ball" or a "wow cold weather is cold right?" guy... More a "hey what you been up to?" guy... Straight to the point: literally what has been going on. And combine with jokes or saying weird things for a laugh. Not literally structured jokes of course: those people are weird. I find interactions stimulating!

And "big talk": fine. One on one about deep topics or talking about what we're going through: fine.

But i hate middle talk: mostly in groups. I'm wondering if this resonates. Groups are hard: there are two types of conversation. Either "i did a thing" or "i heard about this topic".... Unless i also did a similar thing, where do i go!? Nowhere! And why do i care about people talking about a topic they learnt? Why wouldn't i just go learn that for myself? And trying to talk with authority on my special interests is hard: I'm usually not an expert, so what do i have to offer them? "Hey don't mix pla with petg!" ..."hey IC logic chips are actually really easy to learn!" ... Why would they care? One on one middle talk is usually ok... It's a captive audience. You can change topic. You can pause to think about things. You don't always WANT to go for big talk.

Anyway i guess just a rant... Just it's common to hear that "we" hate small talk: i hate middle talk. The thought of it stresses me out.

Sitting there in silence, hearing something that triggers a thought for what to say, thinking roughly what to say and how to say it, waiting for a gap to say it....ok it's three people later, and the topic has changed, and now i can't say it or it'll be weird, go back to sitting in silence again....
