It was fun while it lasted

I recently started feeding the local crows in my small neighborhood, throwing them shelled peanuts while walking the dog. Slowly, they started recognizing me, and more recently even started following while I walk the dog. While I thought they just recognized ME, apparently they haven't been differentiating between me and anyone else walking in the neighborhood. Today, as I took my dog out I noticed another couple being very confused as a crow followed them home. It makes me so sad, but I'm concerned people may start getting upset with the crows becoming too curious and I would hate for anything to happen to them 😥 So alas, I will return to appreciating their caws from a distance.

Heart Disease

Hi everyone! I wanted to share our Iggy's experience with food-related heart disease in case it might be helpful to others out there.

Our Iggy is now 5 years old and has had a heart murmur for several years. About a year ago, our vet encouraged us to see a cardiologist to get a better idea of what was going on with his heart. After getting tested, we were informed that he has an enlarged heart and some minor abnormalities. The vet flagged his diet as a possible mediator. Although we never specifically sought out a grain-free diet, over the years many of the foods we gave him were in fact grain free.

We switched his food to Farmina grain inclusive and he has been on it for about a year now. At his one year cardiology follow-up appointment, the vet found that his heart has now returned to a normal size and she has no concerns. While this is only our experience, it can be possible to reverse food- related damage, if caught early.

I'm so appreciative of our vet encouraging us to get tested because had we not, we would never had known to change his diet.
