Best IPTV service setup for zero dropped frames on AMD Radeon?

Best IPTV service setup for zero dropped frames on AMD Radeon?

I've been spending some time testing different IPTV playback setups on an AMD GPU and wanted to get some opinions from people who have experimented with codecs, hardware decoding, and player settings.

For comparison, I've been looking at streams from https://vikingiptv.uk, https://vikingtv.uk, and https://british-tv.uk. I'm not trying to recommend or promote any particular provider here. I'm mainly interested in understanding whether differences in stream encoding, bitrate, resolution, and delivery have an impact on playback performance.

One thing I've noticed is that simply having a capable GPU doesn't necessarily guarantee completely smooth IPTV playback. Depending on the stream, player, decoder, and settings, there can still be occasional frame drops, buffering, increased latency, or small stutters.

I'm particularly interested in how AMD's hardware video decoding handles different IPTV formats. For example, does H.264 generally provide a smoother experience than H.265/HEVC, or does HEVC work just as well when the GPU supports hardware decoding properly?

Some of the things I'm trying to figure out include:

* H.264 vs H.265/HEVC for live IPTV
* AMD hardware decoding vs software decoding
* Whether AMD VCN hardware acceleration makes a noticeable difference
* Best player between MPV, VLC, Kodi, and similar options
* Recommended buffer and cache settings for live streams
* Whether lowering the buffer actually reduces noticeable latency
* How bitrate affects frame drops and playback stability
* Whether 1080p and 4K streams behave differently on AMD GPUs
* Whether variable bitrate streams cause more playback issues
* How much CPU usage is normal when hardware decoding is enabled
* Whether refresh-rate matching makes a difference for live channels
* Any useful settings for reducing micro-stutters or dropped frames

I'm also curious about how much of the playback experience is actually determined by the codec versus the stream itself. For example, if two streams use the same H.264 codec but have different bitrates, frame rates, GOP structures, or encoding settings, would you expect one to perform noticeably better than the other?

For anyone using an AMD GPU for IPTV, what has worked best for you? I'm especially interested in real-world experiences with different codecs + hardware decoders + media players, rather than just the default settings that come with the player.

If you've managed to get consistently smooth playback with very low latency and practically no frame drops, sharing your GPU model, codec, player, and a few relevant settings would be really useful.

Looking for a Reliable IPTV Option for UK & Europe

I’ve been trying out a few IPTV services recently, mainly looking for something that works well across the UK and Europe without constantly having buffering or channels disappearing.

One service I came across was PrimeFlexMedia.com. I decided to give it a try because it offers a fairly broad selection aimed at users in the UK and European countries.

A few things I noticed while testing it:

est thing with any IPTV service is stability rather than just having a massive channel list. A provider can advertise thousands of channels, but if the streams constantly buffer or go offline, the number doesn’t really mean much.PrimeFlexMedia s

Cursed/shadowbanned twitch channel?

I've been streaming with my friends for more than 4 years several different co-op games. Sometimes with camera, sometimes without. Sometimes old games, sometimes games that have not even come out yet (early previews). Every weekday, 6pm to 8pm. Video and audio quality are really good since I have a 100mbs symmetrical steady connection.

Now, I'm not aiming for pewds or pokimane numbers or anything but I'm baffled by the fact no new people will pass by the channel, ever. Not even by chance. I collab with other Spanish speaking channels and they have random people on and off every couple of days that come by, say hi and sometimes follow, sometimes don't. The nature of the beast is you wont be liked by everyone, sure. But in the last 2 years or so I've had NO NEW PEOPLE drop in at all. It's so bizarre that I'm beginning to think there's some setting I've had misconfigured all this time.

Does anyone know why this could happen? I know twitch is enormous and like 5% of streamers get 95% of the traffic, but... no new people, not even by chance? There are smaller channels with lower quality streaming content that stream 1 or 2 times a month that get more new people than me.

It's just bizarre.

Smart spot lights that either don't blink when power comes back to them or can be configured not to

I've been looking for smart lights (spot) to add to my home but I hate that when the power goes off they start blinking while the Wi-fi resets. Imagine your entire house becomes an EDM night club just because some transformer blew up and you have to wait until they all sync with the Wi-fi (assuming it comes back too, since it's a different service).

So, I need recommendations. I've read that some brands of lights allow you to configure the "power back on" behavior through their app, but I can't find any specific brand. One final note is that I want them to be dimmable, but since they're smart I think that's almost always a given.
