I independently verified the value of Bryan's original collection
I have seen a lot of discussion around the true value of Bryan's collection and decided to do it myself so I could know for sure. I am a long time LEGO nut with experience valuing and selling parts of my own collection. For those of you who just want the numbers:
Total value: ~$110,000
This is very close to Coffeezilla's findings, much to my own surprise. Now, for the breakdown:
I based my valuation on the average of the last 6 months of sales on bricklink.com (basically eBay for LEGO). This means that the valuation is based on current actual sales of the items in Bryan's collection. I recorded the minimum, average, and maximum prices each item sold for in the past 6 months and added them all together.
Sets:
Minimum value: $33,603.94
Maximum value: $129,435.18
Average value: $82,624.56
Minifigures:
Minimum value: $11,611.04
Maximum value: $39,858.00
Average value: $27,531.86
Total (sets+minifigs):
Minimum value: $45,214.98
Maximum value: $169,293.18
Average value: $110,156.42
Coffeezilla valuation holds up. Keep in mind that this is a valuation based on the last 6 months of sales, and the theft happened back in late 2024. But I don't think the values would have changed enough to be significant.
