Hey everybody.

40M post-op Left Achilles Arthrex Speedbridge dropping a slightly more long term update for those looking for that kind of stuff.

Date of Surgery: 12/11/25

Finally switched from my standard PT group into more sports specific rehab two weeks ago. I haven’t started running yet as I’m fairly behind on calf strength due to some heel pain and scar tissue issues during months 3 & 4. But we’ve started a ton of weighted isometrics and gradually introducing explosive work. Been pushing sleds, doing agility ladders, and trying to get used to moving in multiple directions.

End goal is a return to sport, specifically beach volleyball and rugby. Honestly a month ago I wouldn’t have believed I’m where I’m at now. So for those struggling, there’s some hope down the road even for a middle aged athlete who won’t let it go lol.
