Demos i and ii Questions and Discussion

I was thinking earlier about Substack and Demos iii and wondering what it was like for y'all who were following the boys back in 2019 when they released the first two iterations of Demos, between the actual demos of Bambi on i then the unreleased tracks on ii.

Had they played the Demos ii tracks live before the album release? I'm thinking of things like Sula that don't have an official release but now with Demos iii, have an "official" recording.

They've scrubbed their Instagram from before 2024 - was any of the drop a surprise, or was it announced that they would release demos of Bambi and then unreleased demos? What was the hype in the community like?

And finally, if they were to make an official non-demo, full release of one of the Demos ii songs, which would you want? I would love a version of Chapstick similar to what they have performed live with Decarlo's trumpet solo, but I would also love to see the difference between the raw sound of Joy with a more refined album release.

Was that a plane???

Sorry to be the "What was that sound" post but seriously, what WAS that sound??

Sounded like a jumbo jet taking off, right over Microsoft Campus just after noon.

3 questions for summertime at Rainier

Hi! I've lived in the area for about 2 years now, yet never made it to the park itself.

Next Wednesday, I have a day off of work, and wanted to head on down for the first time. It would just be a day trip, I'm not looking to camp. Just me and my backpack for the day. I have a couple places saved for trails I would like to do, all generally on the Eastern side of Paradise, along Stevens Canyon Rd.

I have a couple questions, especially about timing. I live up in Bellevue, and I know the drive down will take about 2.5 hours. I'm SURE it's busy down there, and I've seen other posts recommending getting there before sunrise.

  1. Is the before-sunrise rule still applicable on a weekday? Or should the park be more accessible during the week?

  2. More of a confirmation than a question, but it has its own parking permit, correct? My Discover Pass isn't valid in MRNP?

  3. If all else fails and for some reason I can't easily get to where I want to go, where is somewhere in the area outside of the park you would recommend that might be less crowded? I don't need to get all the way up to Paradise, just looking for a spot with a nice easy hike and some nice views :)

I transcribed all of Hippo's song lyrics as an art project, AMA

On March 12th, I started transcribing Hippo's officially released songs in an effort to stop doomscrolling and return to my hobbies. These were the results, how I visualize the songs in my head. These ones I posted are my favorite ones.

Some pages are simpler with just the lyrics, but as I made my way through the discography, I ended up making them more detailed more often. And yes, they sometimes come across as edgy-teenage-esque-angst, but I don't care! I had fun with it and that's the most important.

Anyway, ask me anything about it or if there is a song in particular you want to see! :)

Is the Microsoft Campus open to the public to walk through? (No buildings)

I've lived north of the Redmond campus for a couple months. I had a friend recently move just south of it - close enough that I can walk to their house in about 25 minutes. However, I could cut that time much shorter if I'm allowed to walk through the campus.

I have no desire to go into any buildings, just to use the roads and trails as a place to walk. Is this allowed?

Could I get a doctor's note to replace my toilet?

I have been living in an apartment with a VERY small toilet. It is lower than any toilet I have ever used, I feel like it's made for children.

Since moving in, I have been getting hemorrhoids more often, so often in fact that I started to get a little concerned and went to a rectal doctor. He said it's possible that the toilet seat was a factor (though I also need more fiber, yeah I know...).

Do y'all think I could ask my doctor for a doctor's note to replace the toilet? I have never known an apartment complex like the one I am in to ever do an "unnecessary" change like this, but maybe if they have an official note? What do you all think? Would a doctor even write that note?
