Standby GO. Yes, it's another launcher. But wait, there's more!

Hi everyone — I'm the developer of Standby GO. I've been working on it for a while but haven't really promoted it, so I wanted to share what it can do. The first app I always opened when I put on my VP used to be Status Bar Builder, but now it's Standby GO.

This app was not a one-shot cash grab, it was many hours, many days, and probably hundreds if not thousands of iterations. For me it has replaced launcher apps, homekit camera apps, and Apple Home apps. There's a very usable completely free version, and a one time purchase paid version with a lot more features.

The idea is to build your own floating bars: a compact clock and weather display, an app launcher beside your workspace, a Home control panel, or a mix of all three. You can place items freely and make the bar as simple or elaborate as you like.

**What's free:**

- Two saved bars, with app links, websites, supported deep links and Shortcuts.

- Information items including clocks, dates, weather, battery, calendars, world clocks, sun/moon information, counters, countdowns, timers and stopwatches.

- Apple Music now playing with album artwork and playback controls.

- Custom/photo icons, adjustable labels and sizes, drag-and-drop placement, multiple selection, alignment and even spacing.

- Themes and workspace snapshots, within the free plan's limits.

**What Pro adds:**

- Unlimited bars and 20 editable example bars to help you get started.

- Apple Home scenes, devices and camera streams.

- Camera groups with up to eight feeds, arranged in your choice of rows and columns. Rectangular, round and oval views, with zoom/pan controls.

- Extra fonts, custom colors, tinted icons, gradients, faded edges and advanced background controls.

There are also fitted and smooth bar backgrounds, plus optional wood and metal frames with adjustable width and depth. Snapshots let you save a workspace, reopen its bars together, or duplicate it to try a different look.

RTSP, Scrypted import, network camera discovery, public webcams and Tiny Planet for compatible feeds are **beta**. Compatibility varies by camera and setup. Apple Music controls are for Apple Music, and app launch links depend on the destination app supporting them.

The app is free to download. **Pro is a $7.99 one-time purchase in the US**, with localized pricing elsewhere. There's an optional **five-day free Pro trial**, with no subscription or automatic charge.

I'd love to hear what you'd put on your own bar, or what would make this more useful in your daily Vision Pro setup.

Beepster beta: looking for a handful of Pebble Time 2 testers

UPDATE: Beepster 0.13.0 is now publicly available! I decided to open up the first release rather than limit it to an invitation beta. No DM or invitation needed. Reddit won’t let me change the title, so I’m updating this post instead of making another one.

Install guide and Mac download: https://geezuschrotch.github.io/beepster/INSTALL

Pebble Store: https://apps.repebble.com/d2ee8ca7db384c6ca9eefa57

Feedback and bug reports: https://github.com/GeezusChrotch/beepster/issues/new/choose

Beepster is an independent, open-source Beeper client for Pebble Time 2. It shows full conversations, refreshes while you’re using it, and supports voice dictation, quick replies, contact names, themes, configurable buttons, bitmap emoji, photo previews, conversation archiving, and optional OpenClaw Approve/Deny actions inside Telegram chats.

You’ll need:

• A Pebble Time 2

• A Mac that can stay awake and online while Beepster is in use

• An iPhone (the current tested setup; Android hasn’t been validated yet)

• Beeper Desktop installed and signed in

• Tailscale connected on both the Mac and phone

Setup is guided through a signed, Apple-notarized Mac connector, without Terminal, Git, or developer tools. Its window can close after setup; the background service, Beeper Desktop, and Tailscale keep running on the Mac. GIFs and videos currently show static posters, with one attachment preview per message.

I’d really appreciate feedback—installation snags, contact names, reply reliability, scrolling, media previews, feature suggestions, and what works well. This is a first release, so reports from other setups will help improve it. Please remove private messages, contact details, tokens, pairing codes, and private Tailscale addresses from public reports.

This is my usual account, u/Org4nik; the earlier invitation went up from the wrong account. Thanks for checking Beepster out!

Beyond disappointed on my first day with G2. They are dead.

Displays stopped working, app not reporting battery for the case or glasses. They are both fully charged. I’ve been through all of the troubleshooting steps multiple times. And to make matters worse, can’t even “report a problem” in the app, says there’s a network issue (there isn’t). I deeply regret my $1000 purchase right now. Didn’t even get a full days use before they completely died. Haven’t even received the ring yet. Fuck.

In yet another surprise, 2026.7.1 broke my install.

This has happened with pretty much every other openclaw update for me. I use Codex to fix it, but honestly how can something beta test for several days and still be this bad? I can’t think of any other harness, or software in general that I use that is this buggy with every single update. At this point maybe just scrap the whole thing and start over. Great idea, awful implementation. Too many cooks in the kitchen.

Vision OS 27 - Chat GPT works! (For me)

This is the first time I think I’ve ever had a dev beta 1 make an app work instead of breaking things…Chat GPT finally works again!
