AVP Play – an open-source Mac app that installs the Quest games you own natively on Apple Vision Pro (no streaming)

Hi all, I've been building a Mac app called AVP Play. It takes Meta Quest games you already own, translates them on your Mac and installs them on your Apple Vision Pro, where they run natively – no PC, no streaming. First things first: all credit for the hard part goes to the developer of Klepton. Klepton is the toolchain that makes Quest games run on visionOS at all. Without that work none of this would be remotely possible. AVP Play is "only" the friendly front end around it: sign-in, downloads, building, installing, updates.

What it does

Lists the whole Quest catalogue (about 17,000 titles) and shows a label on each game: Verified (tested by me), Community Verified (more users report it runs than not), Untested, Incompatible.

You sign in with your own Meta account through Meta's own tool. The app asks Meta whether you own a game before it downloads anything – what you haven't bought is never downloaded. Your access key stays in the macOS keychain.

Steam is built in too: for games whose files come from a Steam purchase (Doom 3, Half-Life: Alyx) the app signs in through Valve's own SteamCMD and fetches exactly the files it needs – again only for games your account owns.

One click builds, signs and installs the game on the headset. DLC you bought later can be synced without rebuilding.

The app updates itself, and it's signed and notarised. Verified so far: Asgard's Wrath 2, Batman: Arkham Shadow, Beat Saber (with purchased song packs), Moss, Walkabout Mini Golf, SUPERHOT VR, Steam Link, Doom 3 (Doom3Quest port + your own Doom 3 files) and Half-Life: Alyx (your own Steam copy). Over the next few days I'll be testing and verifying a lot more of my own games.

Untested games – and fixing them with AI

You don't have to wait for me. Any game you own can be tried right away, verified or not. Expect some of them not to start – every verified game needed its own small adjustments first. If a game doesn't run properly:

report it with one click ("it works" / "it starts, with problems" / "it does not start") – these reports are what the community labels are made of, and

use "Fix with AI": you pick what goes wrong, and the app writes a complete prompt for your own AI coding assistant – where the files are, how to build and install, how to get the log off the headset. If the assistant finds a fix, you can send it in and I'll review it so everyone gets it. The more people use the app and report, the better it gets for everybody.

What you need (honest list)

An Apple Vision Pro and a Mac with Xcode

A paid Apple Developer account. That requirement may go away later, but right now it is required.

Your own Meta account with the games in it (and a Steam account for the Steam titles)

About Glovebox: yes, I know Glovebox.vision, and I plan to build its specifics into AVP Play as well.

Download and source: https://github.com/myMartek/avp-play (MIT licensed) This is not affiliated with Meta, Valve or Apple, and it does not include or share any game content: everything is downloaded from Meta or Valve with your own account, for games you bought. Happy to answer questions – and I'd love to hear which games work for you.

Why is reaching mass-adoption so hard for VR?

I had a demo of the Apple Vision Pro and I was amazed by the immersive video experience.
I watched a football demo video of Real Madrid vs Juventus Turin and I now think all entertainment should be like that.
Is it just that the price for APV needs to drop and BOOM mass adoption?
How do you see VR/AR grow in the next years?

Standby GO. Yes, it's another launcher. But wait, there's more!

Hi everyone — I'm the developer of Standby GO. I've been working on it for a while but haven't really promoted it, so I wanted to share what it can do. The first app I always opened when I put on my VP used to be Status Bar Builder, but now it's Standby GO.

This app was not a one-shot cash grab, it was many hours, many days, and probably hundreds if not thousands of iterations. For me it has replaced launcher apps, homekit camera apps, and Apple Home apps. There's a very usable completely free version, and a one time purchase paid version with a lot more features.

The idea is to build your own floating bars: a compact clock and weather display, an app launcher beside your workspace, a Home control panel, or a mix of all three. You can place items freely and make the bar as simple or elaborate as you like.

**What's free:**

- Two saved bars, with app links, websites, supported deep links and Shortcuts.

- Information items including clocks, dates, weather, battery, calendars, world clocks, sun/moon information, counters, countdowns, timers and stopwatches.

- Apple Music now playing with album artwork and playback controls.

- Custom/photo icons, adjustable labels and sizes, drag-and-drop placement, multiple selection, alignment and even spacing.

- Themes and workspace snapshots, within the free plan's limits.

**What Pro adds:**

- Unlimited bars and 20 editable example bars to help you get started.

- Apple Home scenes, devices and camera streams.

- Camera groups with up to eight feeds, arranged in your choice of rows and columns. Rectangular, round and oval views, with zoom/pan controls.

- Extra fonts, custom colors, tinted icons, gradients, faded edges and advanced background controls.

There are also fitted and smooth bar backgrounds, plus optional wood and metal frames with adjustable width and depth. Snapshots let you save a workspace, reopen its bars together, or duplicate it to try a different look.

RTSP, Scrypted import, network camera discovery, public webcams and Tiny Planet for compatible feeds are **beta**. Compatibility varies by camera and setup. Apple Music controls are for Apple Music, and app launch links depend on the destination app supporting them.

The app is free to download. **Pro is a $7.99 one-time purchase in the US**, with localized pricing elsewhere. There's an optional **five-day free Pro trial**, with no subscription or automatic charge.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6815790289

I'd love to hear what you'd put on your own bar, or what would make this more useful in your daily Vision Pro setup.

TESTFLIGHT - Home Glass - Make your home controls look good - works with Home Assistant, Apple Toolkit, Hue, Switchbot and Samsung Smarthings

Hi everyone!

I worked an app for all platforms to make our connected home devices look a bit better than the home assitant app and native to Vision Pro.

It also works on all other platforms including the upcoming Duo taking advantage of the new screens design.

If anyone wants to test it just reply here and as soon as Apple approve the builds I will share the link with you since I could only test It on my home. I am not forcing anyone to do it so just let me know if you could like to test it.

It works with home assitant, all Apple HomeKit including matter devices linked to it, Samsung Smarthub, Philips Hue, Switchbot and Philips Hue for now.

Looking forward to any feedback so that I can correct bugs.

Just fyi because I expect some comments, while I am learning to code myself at the moment, this app its mostly vibe coded but took me many hours to get it to a place that works and that I like.

Anyway just let me know and any set ups for your home, big or small works.

Cheers.

C
