Do I have a chance to get financial aid?
Hi guys! I'm an international student recently committed to Yale for my sport but I graduate in 2027 so I haven't applied or gotten a pre read yet. My family has a fairly unique financial situation and I can't really calculate whether we will be able to get any aid using the NPC.
My parents are unemployed by choice due to health issues but they used to have decent jobs so we have real estate worth between 2-3 million usd in equity consisting of our primary residence and a property abroad.
They also had some savings previously but the past few years they've used it to support me in pursuing my sport and studies so now our savings are pretty much drained. We generate a little bit of income from renting the house we own abroad but it's all used to pay property tax and morgage.
The housing markets in both countries that our properties are in are really bad right now so we likely will not be able to sell either of them before I start school. My parents are willing to support me going to Yale no matter what but without any aid it would take a really big financial toll on our family.
If anyone was or knows anyone else in a similar situation, I was wondering if you could give me some insight into how much aid we could expect, if any at all? Also, if anybody tried to appeal their financial aid and was successful, could you tell me a little about how that process goes?
Thank you so much for your help!
How did the regular round of AP exams treat everybody?
The first round of AP exams are over, let's do a debrief!!! 🎉🎊🎉
First of all, congratulations everybody on your hard work taking AP courses, we should all be very proud of ourselves. Let's also have a moment of silence for the honorable souls that bombed the exam so the rest of us could have an easier curve 🥹😭.
I'm curious how everybody did so if you want, comment which exams you took, the easiest one, the hardest one, and the most diabolical question or moment you encountered.
Finally, wishing the best of luck to late exam takers, may the curve ever be in our favour and may we see 5s all over our screens in July! 🪄✨🤑
AHHHH IT'S OFFICIALLY MAY AKA HELL MONTH FOR AP STUDENTS!!! I wish everyone taking the AP exam the best of luck, may the curve always be in your favor lol. Also, does anyone else feel like they are both pretty prepared but also soooo cooked at the same time? Anyway GOOD LUCK WE ARE GETTING THOSE 5S🤑🫡✨.
Btw I'm curious how many exams y'all are taking and how you studied for them so comment if you want:)
