Update: “my ortho doesn’t think I need an expander”

So I had an appointment with my orthodontist today and this time they had another lady come in to explain (but more like discourage me) double jaw surgery to me because I had requested a consultation last appointment. In this consultation I asked about an expander once again and was told that it isn’t necessary since my top teeth overlap the bottom ones. Does anyone know if I can just wait until I’m older and pay to get everything done then?

Edit:
Important information
•I’m in the uk so currently it’s free
•I can’t get a different ortho without going private and I don’t have the money
•pallet is roughly 1.5 cm wide

My ortho thinks I don’t need an expander

My orthodontist said that my tpa would be enough, I obviously think otherwise, my palette is so narrow that I cannot fit my index finger to the top of my mouth near the front. I’ve had 2 teeth pulled and I think that after my braces that’s my treatment finished (my orthodontist doesn’t really tell me what is happening I just come into an appointment and leave) does anyone know if I can and how to request an expander (nhs)
