In a loop. In need of elaboration.

I work as a therapist in a clinic. I’ve been listening to “The End” quite a bit over the last couple of days. Depending upon how the day is going, how I am feeling, what the energy is like around the office, I’m getting different things from the song on each listen. The app follows it up with good, solid songs from the era, but none are quite scratching the same itch.

Toss me some other songs that feel jammy, “too long for radio,” spare and haunting, spacey, please. I’m heading into the part of my day that doesn’t include interruptions.

Thanks in advance to my fellow travelers.

Rush mow job

I’m over in West Haven. I need my yard mowed today. It doesn’t have to even be all that good. The grass is very thick from all the rain. I’m paying, of course.

Privacy

What do other therapists do to protect their relative anonymity? I’ve worked in a couple of fields in which clients have lengthy records including violent crime, ugly custody disputes, serious legal ramifications. I have a pretty distinctive, unusual name. There are definitely moments that have caused me little bits of concern.

Glow in the dark/blacklight reactive

I know some people out there must really dig their glow in the dark and blacklight reactive shoes. Show off your favorites. Keep it positive.

Streaming this weekend

Does anybody out there have any suggestions for horror that is new to streaming (not PPV) this weekend. My wife can’t be bothered to read subtitles, so it’d have to be English or dubbed. Let the suggestions fly.

Strangers: Chapter 3

Not that the bar was high after chapters 1 and 2, but what an absolutely inane, incoherent waste of time this movie is. And that scene in the motel room was too long by several minutes.

I liked the original quite a bit, but didn’t love it. Still, it did an excellent job of being what it was. A big piece of why it was so menacing was the utter lack of explanation. It’s okay to let the audience end the film a little confused, off-balance.

Hey, Jackal Twins, are you reading this?

When will the world get to experience your second album? What can we do to help that happen?

Way outside scope of practice.

The clinic at which I work has us do quite a bit of case management stuff. They also refuse to hire case managers. They’ve recently gotten very aggressive about compelling us to complete financial assessments with our clients. We have to collect information regarding household income, including pay stubs/bank statements, which are scanned in to their charts. If the client refuses, they have to pay roughly triple their usual rates.

I’ve never heard of clinics forcing therapists to collect client financial information beyond the occasional surface questions about sliding scale. Has anybody else experienced anything like this?
