One of my rawer drawings (Posca markers on 6x8 inch mixed media paper)
In a loop. In need of elaboration.
I work as a therapist in a clinic. I’ve been listening to “The End” quite a bit over the last couple of days. Depending upon how the day is going, how I am feeling, what the energy is like around the office, I’m getting different things from the song on each listen. The app follows it up with good, solid songs from the era, but none are quite scratching the same itch.
Toss me some other songs that feel jammy, “too long for radio,” spare and haunting, spacey, please. I’m heading into the part of my day that doesn’t include interruptions.
Thanks in advance to my fellow travelers.
Guitar pedal for psyyyych
Had a set up going for ages, but clean slate these are your options. What sequence are you setting them up in for this genre ?
New to the genre. Suggestions along the lines of Tame Impala’s Lonerism, the Beatles, and Ziggu Stardust?
Thanks for suggestions!
Traffic Advanced Tapes
Keeping these as memorabilia when I discover them in early 90’s.
In two weeks I will be performing a set of Psychedelic rock (guitar and vocals). Here is my set list
Note: my second set is all Beatles, so that is why there is no Beatles on this list.

Break on through......Doors
Journey to the center of the mind......Amboy Dukes
Eight miles high......Byrds
Mountains of the moon......Grateful Dead
See Emily play......Pink Floyd
Light my fire......Doors

Do you agree that Space Oddity and Planet Caravan are psychedelic?
Los Dug Dug’s, Mexican psych legends, are playing a 96-seat LA show this Saturday
Los Dug Dug’s, one of the foundational Mexican psych / Onda Chicana bands, are playing Los Angeles this Saturday at Permanent Records Roadhouse.
They’re still fronted by Armando Nava, who started the band back in the 60s. I caught them in Tijuana last March almost by accident, after seeing a flyer at a record show, and I honestly wasn’t prepared for how good they still were.
Quick background: after the 1971 Avándaro festival, basically Mexico’s Woodstock, the government cracked down on rock music. A lot of Mexican psych, hard rock, and Onda Chicana got pushed off TV, pushed off radio, and forced underground. That’s part of why so many of these records are still hard to find.
I made a short video talking about the band, the records, and the show, and I show my Los Dug Dug’s vinyl copies.
Full disclosure: I’m co-presenting the show with Discos Lo Nuestro.

youtu.beBands similar to Psychedelic Porn Crumpets?
I love me some PPC but I’d be interested in hearing what others might compare them to, especially a more well established comparison for their sound. Maybe some older rock groups they are similar to?
