Pigeon
I found a pigeon behind Stadelhofen. It’s a young pigeon, very thin. She was sitting on both legs but barely moving. When other pigeons started approaching her, she jumped down onto the railway tracks. She can’t fly and barely reacts to her surroundings.
I just brought her home. The only problem is that I live in Oberwinterthur. She passed green-and-white watery droppings. I placed her in a basin with some water; she drank a little and tried to preen herself, but she is very unsteady and keeps losing her balance.
I have now put her in a box lined with natural-fabric T-shirts in a quiet place, with water and food next to her. She isn’t eating yet and is just sitting in the box, dozing.
I’ve already called several animal services. The last number they gave me was the police. Does anyone know what I should do next? If her condition gets worse, who should I contact? If she recovers, should I release her back where I found her? And if she unfortunately dies, what should I do and who should I notify?
