Longest ride to date!
Getting ready for my first gravel race in September.
Really loving my bike right now…
Unfortunately it’s just too damn hot in Tucson to do much riding. Have to get out EARLY, but between meetings and the kids starting school this week I’m on my third consecutive day without getting a ride in. :(
We don’t always ride past the fucking Louvre or the Tetons.
Sudden recalls while on the road?
So JP Crawford was officially put on the IL today and apparently Colt Emerson woke up with back stiffness and is not in the Mariners lineup today. They recalled Ryan Bliss from the Tacoma Raniers who are playing Albuquerque in Tacoma. so how did Bliss get from Tacoma to Baltimore today in time for the game? Does the team travel with contingency players just in case they need to recall them from Triple A?
Why is taking a pitcher out such a dramatic display when it's just a routine event that happens in virtually every game?
I've never followed baseball real closely. Have attended maybe 15-20 Mariners games in my life and watched very inconsistently. But this year my 13-year-old son has become a fanatic, so we've been watching every game. It finally occurred to me that taking a pitcher out is always such a dramatic display. The manager slowly walks out to the mound, the infielders circle up, and then the pitcher is forced to do a walk of shame. In every other sport they just call you out from the sidelines and nobody blinks twice. Why do they do it like this in baseball? No criticism, just curious.
If Jesus wasn’t the “christ” would his last name be Carpenter?
reddit.comMichelin Pro 5 TLR sidewall blowout. Was this a defect or could something have caused it?
Rode 50 miles this morning, rolled into my driveway, got off the bike, opened the garage, and when I lifted my bike to put it on the stand, the sidewall of my Michelin Pro 5 TLR randomly blew out. Not while I was on it, but while I was holding it in my hands placing it on the stand. FWIW these are 700x40.
I didn't hit anything, there's no damage to the rim. Just looks like it frayed out between the bead and the sidewall. Was running at probably 35 PSI. Unfortunately too, because I really liked these tires. Only had maybe 250 miles on them. This a defect, or does something cause this kind of failure?
A hawk in my neighborhood always feasts on its prey from the same branch over the sidewalk. Everyday there’s new bones.
PSA: If you’re having frequent failed prints with various extruder errors…
It might be time for a new nozzle. The printer comes with a stainless nozzle but you can buy a better hardened steel replacement for $12.99. I was at my wit’s end trying to figure out why filament kept breaking, prints were failing due to “couldn’t extrude” properly messages, messes were being made. Finally just bought a new nozzle and my printer is back to normal. Worth a shot before resorting to more time consuming tactics.
This a good pace? Getting ready for my first century in November.
Been cycling a year and am down 60 lbs. aiming for 6:30 on the century.
How’s my pace?
A year ago I was 308 lbs when I started cycling. This morning I was 249. I’m 6’2” so I’m getting closer to where I want to be weight-wise. Goal is 220 by year end.
Anyway, here are my numbers from today.
Distance
50.11 mi
Moving Time
2:56:02
Avg Speed
17.1 mi/h
Elevation Gain
1,152 ft
This was all on the Tucson Loop and the branch up to Oro Valley. My goal this morning was to do the whole 50 miles without getting passed. Which I did! I know it’s not a very objective measure of performance, because who knows who’s out riding on any given day, but it felt great. I’m riding El Tour de Tucson in November and have a rough goal of 6:30. I’ve only done 50 miles a few times and never much more. Does this seem like decent pace to hit my goal of 102 miles in under six and a half hours in November?
Tool to remove cranks?
What tool do I need to get this crank off this old Specialized Hard Rock?
Generic Extruder Problem
I’ve had some trouble with filament breaking inside the extruder and the printer can no longer push/pull filament from the AMS Lite. In some circumstances I can remove the feeder and pull the broken filament out but today I removed the feeder and the filament was completely intact all the way from the spool to the nozzle. But I still got this error. Anyone have any ideas? I’m thinking I might just buy a new nozzle but that’s just throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping something sticks.
Aside from the fact that in 2005 the MFMC lost their effort to fully trademark the term, limiting their ownership to certain commercial categories, the MFMC has not attempted for 21 years to enforce any trademark ownership against Mormon Stories.
It seems to me there is both an unreasonable delay and prejudice. In Utah, a laches defense is typically valid after 3-4 years without the owner enforcing the trademark, which again, likely doesn't cover Mormon Stories' use case to begin with.
SRAM Rival mechanical derailleur. Bearings are different colors and the grooves in the pulleys seem different too.
