What's the best small smartphone right now?

I'm after a small/mini smartphone as my daily driver. The goal isn't to not be able to use any particular apps, but rather just make the experience less enjoyable so I naturally use it less. I'm looking for a screen around 4", I think the 5" screens on say a Jelly Max wouldn't cause enough friction and I could get sucked in for long periods still.

So far I have considered:

Jelly Star

Bluefox nx1

Fossibot F116 Pro

So far I'm leaning towards the Bluefox nx1 as it's for up to date than the Jelly star, and the Fossibot is quite expensive for unknown brand. But the thing that worries me about all of them is the lack of security updates.

Are there any better options?

Struggling with Pixel 10 Pro (PWM?) - will the Oppo Find X9 Pro actually be better, or am I chasing a false improvement?

I've had my Pixel 10 Pro for a year and I'm really struggling with it. Before buying it, I had no idea PWM sensitivity was even a thing — but looking into it now, I'm fairly convinced that's my issue, since I don't get this problem with any other screen I use.

I'm looking for a replacement that still feels like a proper flagship, especially camera-wise. I liked the look of the Vivo X200 Pro/X300 Pro, but getting a genuine global version in the UK is difficult and expensive. The Honor Magic 8 Pro seems like the "safe" choice for PWM, but I'm not keen on its image processing.

The Oppo Find X9 Pro looks close to perfect for me, and its PWM spec looked great on paper — until I read that independently measured, real-world PWM comes in well below the advertised figure. That sent me down a rabbit hole of PWM vs. DC dimming vs. dithering, and honestly I'm now a bit lost on how it all actually comes together in terms of real-world comfort.

So my question for people who understand this better than I do: the measured Find X9 Pro figure I found puts it roughly in line with what the Pixel 10 Pro is advertised at (not even independently tested — I can't find anyone who's actually measured the Pixel 10 Pro's real-world PWM). Given PWM frequency isn't the only factor at play, would the Find X9 Pro likely still feel noticeably better than my Pixel 10 Pro in practice? Or am I likely to be disappointed and end up in the same boat?

Solar Eclipse Composite.

This is a composite image from the recent partial eclipse we had in the UK.

I used a solar filter that blocks out 99.999% of sunlight to capture the different stages of the eclipse in sharp detail without risking damage to my camera sensor. The foreground and landscape came from a separate exposure without the solar filter, then blended together to show the full scene. So a total of 7 photos combined. All shots from the same location on the same day. X-T5, XF 100-400mm.

First weeks with the X-T5 (coming from a Canon R) - finally enjoying photography again

Switched from a Canon EOS R recently because I was sick of every photo turning into an editing session. With the X-T5 I've been mostly using film recipes and just shooting, no laptop, no "I'll fix it in post," just snap and move on. It's honestly been really liberating. Still pull out the raws for the planned stuff (sunrises, sunsets, astro) but everything else I'm just enjoying again.

I'm aware I'm probably leaning into that typical Fuji yellow tint everyone does with these cameras, but with good reason, we're currently in the throes of our fourth heatwave here and our landscape is markedly more dry and yellow than usual. I'm leaning into it partly because that's just how it looks right now, but also because I'm trying to capture the feeling of it too. Hopefully I've got the balance right on most of these.

Constructive feedback welcome, I'm still figuring out what my style is going to be with this camera.

X-T5, XF 16-80mm f4.

Adjust wallpaper position?

Maybe I'm being stupid but it doesn't seem possible to adjust the position of the wallpaper when setting a new wallpaper now? You just seem to have to hope that it composes it well enough.

Hopefully I'm wrong and there's a way to do it!

Does anybody know which multi tool has a chain breaker that is 1/12 speed compatible?

I have just realised mine isn't and I don't fancy being stuck half way up a mountain with no way to fix a broken chain.

On my multi tools chain breaker the bit that pushes the pin out is slightly too large to push the pin out on my SRAM 1/12 chain.

Has anyone who got really bad heartburn on sertraline had better luck with escitalopram?

I started 25 mg sertraline and had to stop after just 6 days because the acid reflux was honestly unbearable. Even after stopping, I was put on omeprazole and it still took about 3 weeks for things to settle down.

I did everything “right” too, always took it with food, drank plenty of water, but the reflux wasn’t just after taking it, it made me prone to getting it all day.

My doctor has suggested trying escitalopram next, but I’m pretty nervous about going through that again.

If you’ve taken both, did you notice less heartburn or reflux on escitalopram compared to sertraline?
