Getting asked my age by a recruiter from TekSystems

As the title says. I've interviewed others over the years, and one hard-and-fast rule I've always been told is "You can't ask their age." Yet this recruiter is asking for my month and year of birth.

Is this now normal? a TekSystems thing?

Any help or thoughts would be great (yes, I'm worried about age discrimination)

Does anyone have any news on the multicar accident that closed York Road in Warminster for an extended period of time on Monday?

In my defense, I was left unchaperoned…

I like to go on drives on sunny days. I’m particular to dirt roads and seldom visited places. Today I was knocking a few covered bridges off my bucket list and I came across this sign.

Having never seen that before I had to check it out.

We made it across. It was fun. Would do it again.
Unfortunately wifey is now mad because “that’s not what the car is for!!!

But I had fun.

Hatch lift

Ok brothers and sisters, and Kia soul owners of all gender persuasions.

My hatch no longer lifts easily. Like I have to use all my strength to push it up all the way and use my head to keep it from slamming shut.

Guessing I have to replace the two piston looking things.

Anyone have an idea about cost so I can save up?

A note on dealership service centers

I saw an article recently about the cost of buying a new car being above what the average American feels comfortable putting out - especially right now.

Notably in the article it said that car manufacturers were taking note of this and pivoting their focus on getting the most $ out of their dealer service centers and sale of OEM parts.

I’ve always said that dealership service centers are not on your side. They exist to make the most money possible- not to just give you what you need.

Example - dealership told my wife that she needed a $1400 fix to pass inspection. A second opinion from my mechanic said it was a recommended optional maintenance but was definitely NOT required to pass inspection.

The dealership lied.

I’m clearly here saying my Soul brothers and sisters, DO NOT BLINDLY TRUST DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTERS.

Get second opinions. If you need to find a good mechanic, ask mommy groups in your area. They will know that most trustworthy and fair mechanics.
