The swap completely changes the look and gives the figure that cleaner, more aggressive street level feel. Installation takes a little patience and definitely some boiling water to safely remove the stock parts, but once softened up the 3D printed pieces fit surprisingly well.

What really impressed me is the durability. Older printed kits used to feel fragile the second heat got involved, but these parts hold up. No cracking, no stress marks, no feeling like the kit is about to crumble while swapping pieces. That alone makes this one stand out for customizers.

The wrapped hands, updated chest logo, and overall proportions make this version feel way closer to that gritty Back in Black era look. Honestly feels like the kind of upgrade that pushes a budget figure into something that looks shelf worthy beside higher end releases.

Any other Daredevil collectors out there modifying their CT Toys version or keeping it stock?

I always wondered if Toji would have been a fantastic character for the Culling Games after Shibuya? Maybe he could have been a challenger for Sukuna. I think they had to take him out because he was too much… Nanami too! The 2019 iPhone would have been his new favorite for online gambling…

I’m a sucker for Scarlet Spider so a had make a set of webs for the Mess Toys version. It’s not too hard to open up the hands for a better pose. I typically drill into the existing hole and then exacto the contours of the fingers to sit evenly

The CT Toys Agent AntiVenom has honestly been one of the more fun surprises to mess around with lately. The design already stands out with that aggressive white and black symbiote look, but once you get him into dynamic poses the figure really starts to shine. The body feels lightweight and agile, which fits the AntiVenom style perfectly, especially for photography setups and action shots.

The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen isn’t one to quit so easily goons! Rewatched the entire 3 seasons of Netflix Daredevil and it hit harder these days. So having custom headsculpts is a fantastic way to capture Matt in a different way. On Insta if you’re looking for a new place to see behind the scenes… the otakulens.

Side note: I’m a huge believer that sometimes comics or fiction can reflect a point in time close to reality. This Daredevil has been a great way to capture the intensity of the world these days.

The CT Toys “Daredevii” fits well into the scene that typically takes shape with my MAFEX Daredevil. The custom headsculpts I have look closer to the red on the CT but still look fantastic on the MAFEX. For me, there is no debate that the MAFEX is a superior figure but dang CT is hitting hard.

I’m not going to say the MAFEX reissue isn’t worth it but it’s a great bargain to get a $35 figure that competes with a $100 figure for average use. If you’re a hardcore collector get the MAFEX. Dialing in the details on this customized Mezco Daredevil Born Again Season 2 black suit concept from my Insta: theotakulens

Swapped in a set of Deadpool bootleg boots from an earlier build and they actually fit this look perfectly, adds that rugged, street feel Matt needs

Focused heavy on the head sculpt this time, used pastel chalks from the carousel to build out a deeper five o’clock shadow on Matt Murdock. Mixed blues, browns, and grays to get a more natural worn in tone instead of just going flat dark

Sealed everything in with MrHobby Mr Super Smooth Clear Matte to lock it in and keep it photo ready

This version is really starting to feel like a live action moment

Mezco One:12 Batman The Animated Series is all about presence. Featuring more on Insta: theotakulens

The proportions look right, the suit pops under lighting, and that cape is easily the best part. It shapes every shot and makes storytelling way easier, especially in street level setups like this.

Articulation is where it holds back a bit. The neck movement is very limited, so getting natural head tilts can be a struggle. Compared to MAFEX, it feels slightly off in flow, even though the joints themselves are solid.

Still, for clean, cinematic Batman shots, this one delivers.

Broken horn = battle damage.

Wasn’t even the plan at first, but sometimes things don’t go how you expect and that’s where it gets interesting. Instead of scrapping it, I leaned into it and built the look around that damage. Now it feels like this Daredevil has actually been through something.

That slight break in the horn adds just enough character to tell a story. Added some muck on the face and made it look like the fight is just getting started, not cleaned up after the fact.

Honestly, this is one of those moments where a “fail” turns into something better than the original idea.
