[OFFER] Discounted Family Photography Sessions in Orange County

Hey! I’m Ryan, a photographer based in Orange County, and I’m looking to photograph a handful of local families while I continue building out my Orange County portfolio.

I’m opening 5 discounted portfolio-building sessions for families interested in natural, relaxed photography.

Sessions include:

• 30–60 minutes
• 12–20 professionally edited images
• Outdoor location somewhere in Orange County
• A mix of candid moments and lightly directed portraits
• Online gallery of the finished images

My normal family session is $550, but I’m offering these sessions at a significantly discounted portfolio rate while I build out more local family work.

I’m especially interested in families with kids, parents, grandparents, or extended family. You don't need to be experienced in front of a camera. The goal is for the photos to feel natural rather than overly posed.

In exchange for the discounted session, I’d ask for permission to use the finished images in my portfolio and website, along with honest feedback about the experience and photos.

I’m based in Orange County and can work with locations throughout the area.

Interested? Comment below or send me a DM, and I’ll send over my portfolio and the details of the discounted rate.

Thanks!

Career changer: BIF vs Danko for education, and is Danko the move for exam prep?

Career changer here planning to start my CFP education this fall, coming from a marketing background (no finance experience) and trying to decide between education providers before committing.

I’ve narrowed it down to BIF (Boston Institute of Finance) instructor-led at $3,995 vs going with Danko for the coursework itself at $6,650 (7 classes at $950 each), and then using Brett Danko for exam prep either way at $2,195 for the Signature package. So we’re talking roughly $6,190 total for BIF + Danko review vs $8,845 for Danko education + Danko review.

A few questions for those who’ve been through it:

  1. Does it actually matter which education provider you use for coursework, or are they all essentially the same since CFP Board mandates the same content? I keep hearing the exam prep matters more than the coursework provider.

  2. For those who used BIF, how was the instructor quality and live class experience? Did you feel prepared going into exam prep, or were there gaps you had to fill yourself?

  3. For those who used Danko for both coursework AND exam prep, was the content continuity worth the extra $2,655 vs using BIF for education and just doing Danko for the review?

  4. Is Danko genuinely the best exam prep or is that just the Reddit consensus echo chamber? Anyone have a strong case for Dalton, Kaplan, or someone else for the review course?

For context: targeting the November 2027 exam, doing the Amplified Planning Externship summer 2027, and coming in with zero prior finance experience. Appreciate any honest takes, especially from career changers who had no background in this before starting.

Came across these AI risk stats for Marketing Managers, what do you think?

Saw these stats the other day and it’s a little frightening to say the least.

It shows the probability of significant role displacement for Marketing Managers over time:

• 6 months: 18% (Low)
• 1 year: 35% (Moderate)
• 5 years: 57% (Significant)
• 10 years: 69% (High)
• 20 years: 78% (High)

The verdict they give is that content generation is largely automated, but brand strategy and campaign leadership remain human, at least for now.

Curious what people in this sub think. Does this match what you’re already seeing in your day-to-day?

I work in paid media full time so been thinking about these things all the time.

Engagement Photographer

Anyone have any photographers they recommend or you can drop in your website/portfolio who has shot in Tuscany for engagement photos?

Looking to get some photos in September this year in the Val d'Orcia region possibly.

Budget is flexible depending on the right person.
