It’s a glaring 5 ⭐️ and definitely live up to hype! The story is easy to follow along, direct even but beneath its layers- it’s an emotional devastating read back to back. I would say its beauty is the perseverance of Sunja is the stellar highlight for me. Super ganda and very worth it basahin. It’s one of the books that would stay with you for a long time.

Such a short read but it’s packing! This is my second novel I read from John Steinbeck and it did not disappoint. I totally get why their works are really a classic. I love this book and na hook ako friendship and brotherhood ni George and Lennie. Their relationship is something we can all relate. A relationship na you’re going to carry.. kahit isa lang sa inyo ang taga buhat pero pag dumating na ang araw na parang punong puno na.. you just have to let it go and goddamn, the ending I did not see it coming! 😭

for those people who had read the book, do you agree with George’s decision?

While mincheol finds enjoyment to see Haesoo crying for him. For taeha, it hurts him :( Haesoo’s pain is his pain too. That is why he is so hell bent making Mincheol suffer for all the shitty things he did to her for 13yrs.

Taeha: “I thought I would like seeing her crying for me… but it just hurts”

I just finished Callie Kazumi’s Greedy and so so good! It’s not faint of the heart - theme is Class, Power, Exploitation/Gaslighting, Addiction, and yes Cannibalism. It’s psychological-horror. Also, I like the main antagonist in this book! 😂 I didn’t see the ending coming but I think in some ways we are greedy… subconsciously.
