Print drops

I am wondering if anyone has insight on "print drops" and a time frame that they became most popular.

I would believe in this day and age of social media, where artists are increasing their following as a manner of public notoriety.

Who was the first to do this? Mark Maggiori comes to mind.

Is this a way to increase engagement and have control over reproduction sales?

I hope you are as curious as I am.

Meanwhile at an art fair

I caught a glimpse of someone with a name tag carrying this 40" x 60" ish to the courier and asked for a picture. When they turned the art to me I said "oh no, I mean the hanger."

I told the individual in my experience, the drings at least go the other way.

I was promptly brushed off. Oh the joy of the art world.

Last night in the Texas hill country, about dusk, I walked out back to check my garden. One of my dogs let out a bark and then suddenly, a massive flock of raven sized birds departed from the trees above me. I was stunned. They were so silent. I couldn't believe what I was seeing but it turned out to be a kettle of Hawks.

I did not know they traveled together when migrating ♡ I sat down and watched as they slowly circled and then flew away.
