This post is for Nigerian Graduates who actually did their NYSC in the past 10-20 years.

So, I've seen this circulating only about proposed reforms on the NYSC and some of the highlighted issues and I ask myself, does this administration know what priorities are?

I remember my NYSC camp days in Iseyin, Oyo State and how we as corps members slept in bedbug infested bunks, the bathrooms were horribly unsanitary and so your best option is to wake up as early as 5am to bathe outside.

The NYSC has lost its relevance and is just another conduit for siphoning funds while subjecting graduates to a year long period of underpaid, sometimes risky (depending on where they're posted to) national service.

From your experience, do you think NYSC had a net positive for your career afterwards? Would your life be better off if you graduated from university and move on to figure out the next phase of your life instead of spending one whole year in agencies that have no intention of retaining you.

P.S: I know few corps members eventually get to work where they served. But this is not the norm, it's an exception so don't try to bring that up.

This is what the First Lady Advised Nigerian Youths to do.

This is what the Nigerian First Lady said on live TV to youths. That they should start businesses that don't take much money to set up like akara & Kuli Kuli.

The fact that we let this wicked, vile, greedy, nepotistic, heartless and gluttonous family assume the reins of power in Nigeria will haunt this country for decades.

Let me now wait and watch out for people who would come to defend this.

It is exhausting talking about Nigeria. Living in Nigeria is like being in a fever dream.

As the title suggests. When you look at the state of the country and just look at a random country in Europe, you question yourself if it's the same humans that lead these countries.

Sometimes I begin to see why they were effectively able to colonise us for that long. Please watch and share your honest thoughts.

This is unreal.

On this subReddit, I've noticed a couple of users who when a genuine and constructive criticism about the government is made, they start trolling to defend the government and make it seem like we do this to tarnish the image of the country. But then you see things like this and you wonder, what exactly is going on in the country.

Can anyone explain how this makes sense in any way shape or form. I'm struggling to understand.

How do you reintegrate terrorists?

Why do Nigerians do this?

The monetisation of social media platforms is making people do stupid stuff. Stop making content out of everything. Stop!!!

Europe outsourced visa processing to a private company. Has anyone else had a terrible experience with VFS Global?

I just read an investigation into VFS Global, the company that handles visa applications for most European countries across much of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

According to the investigation, VFS has become highly profitable not from visa processing itself, but from selling "optional" add-on services such as SMS notifications, document scanning, courier services, premium lounges, and priority appointments. Former employees alleged that staff were often under pressure to meet sales targets, while some applicants reported being pushed into paying for services they didn't really want or need.

The article also mentions complaints from several European governments about issues ranging from appointment availability to data protection and aggressive upselling practices.

For those who have gone through VFS, what was your experience like?

Did you feel the process was transparent and professional, or did you feel pressured into paying for extras? Have you had better experiences with other visa providers like TLS or BLS?

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who applied from Africa, Asia, or the Middle East, since that's where VFS seems to dominate the market.

Wie lebt es sich in Bochum?

Hallo zusammen,

ich ziehe bald beruflich nach Bochum und würde gerne die Meinung von Menschen hören, die dort tatsächlich leben.

Wie würdet ihr Bochum als Wohnort beschreiben? Was gefällt euch besonders an der Stadt, was eher weniger?
