(for reference, the redraw is about 1 year months apart, the 1st one is the new one)

I've been trying a lot of new things and while I'm happy with the results some of the time, im also not sure whether it looks "better" or just different. It feels like improvements(?) im making are more or less just style changes, not truly my skills getting better, if that makes sense?? :') id like some advice !! i feel a bit stuck in a loop.
