Travel buddy to Lincoln

Hi! I’m starting university in Lincoln this September and it’s quite far from where I live. I only need to be on campus for 9 on Mondays. So I was wondering if anyone will be driving to Lincoln from anywhere around Huddersfield? And if you would be willing to split petrol.

I also don’t mind traveling by train together, if not. I feel like having someone to travel with might make the journey less exhausting. I tried Apps like lift-share and a few Facebook groups but had no luck, so this is the next best thing I could think of.

PGCE subject

I start my teacher training soon, and I'm doing it in social sciences, but I have not come across anyone who has done it in the same field, and honestly, this makes me feel worried about landing a job after I finish. I absolutely love psychology and have a good interest in other social sciences. I did it for my undergrad, and I would love to teach it. But I know there is only a small pool of social science teaching jobs. I don't even think secondary schools hire separate social science subject teachers for GCSE level, and I know that landing a job in a college is super competitive. Does anyone have any advice?

Travelling 6 hours in total on a train to university.

I got accepted into university to do my teacher training PGCE. The first 3 weeks are induction, so I've booked a short-term stay, then I don't have to travel back and forth, as it will be so draining to travel on a train 6 hours a day over 4-5 days a week. After this induction period, I'm on campus only on Mondays, and the rest of the week will be spent on a work placement, somewhere within 90 minutes of my home. I really want to save as much money as I can. I did think of moving to the university campus, but that costs a lot of money. I don't drive or have a license, so that is also not an option yet. I also just found out that the classes will start at 9 am until late, so I will probably have to be awake for 4 am or earlier to even make the train on time, and then I have to take 2 buses. Is this a crazy idea, or does it sound okay, seeing as though it's only one day a week? I know that the teacher training year itself is hard and will deplete a lot of my energy, but I really don't see another option. Has anyone else commuted super far, how did you manage, if so?
